Hayden Panettiere shared a touching tribute to her late brother Jansen Panettiere to mark the second anniversary of his untimely pᴀssing at age 28.
‘This amazing human being touched the lives of so many. Especially mine,’ the 35-year-old Heroes alum wrote to her 828K Instagram followers on Wednesday.
‘The pain isn’t quantifiable. I pray you’re in a beautiful place J. That you’re at peace and that when all is said and done… I’ll see you again. Rest easy brother. You are so missed and beyond loved.’
The medical examiner reported that the graffiti artist pᴀssed away from cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart) coupled with aortic valve complications, and his body was buried at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
‘He was my only sibling, and it was my job to protect him. When I lost him, I felt like I lost half of my soul,’ Hayden lamented to People on September 18.
‘I will always be heartbroken about it. I will never be able to get over it. No matter how many years go by, I will never get over his loss.’

The siblings co-starred in three films – Tiger Cruise (2004), Racing Stripes (2005), and The Forger (2012).
Jansen last portrayed Fizz in Christopher Broe and Basil Mironer’s 1999-set teen musical Bart Bagalzby and the Garbage Genie, which he sH๏τ back in 2021 but it only began streaming VOD on January 10.

Hayden – who’s completed two rehab stints for addiction to opioids and alcohol – made more headlines last September for slurring her speech during interviews with People and TODAY.
Panettiere blamed her visible exhaustion on not sleeping for two days over her pet needing emergency surgery, writing on Instagram: ‘My rep stopped the interview early as it became obvious that I was fading – especially as the subject matter became heavier.’
The two-time Golden Globe nominee will detail her sobriety journey in her book Break Free: Addiction, Trauma, and How the Cheerleader Saved Herself – which Grand Central Publishing will release in early 2026.
