The anthology action-comedy, co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is set in Oakland, California in 1987 and follows four interconnected stories.
A synopsis for the film describes it as ‘a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.’
The trailer begins with ’90s-inspired text flashing across the screen to set the scene.
Pascal kicks off the bloody, action-packed trailer by narrating over a montage of clips introducing the setting of the anthology.
‘The underdog thinks he can do the impossible: to feed the bully, sell enough mixtapes to get out of the hood,’ he says over a scene of a motorcyclist zooming down a windy mountain road as the sun sets on the California city.
Flashbacks of all four interwoven stories play as Clint narrates.
‘I can say with certainty, this underdog has seen his last day,’ he adds.
In addition to Pascal as Clint, Normani is also a main character in the mixtape of stories and stars as an aspiring singer with an aptly chosen moniker: Entice.

‘I’m done,’ Clint says.
Mendelsohn’s The Guy then tells him: ‘You’re done when we say you’re done.’
Back to the diner scene, Clint takes out a lighter and burns the envelope. ‘F*** you,’ he tells Dawson, who smirks incredulously at his shocking action.
