Jessica Simpson penned a heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to her father Joe Simpson for 67th birthday.

In her post, which she acknowledged was ‘a day late’ after his birthday on Tuesday, February 18, she referred to her dad and former manager as her ‘hero.’

Her post comes amid a difficult time in her life as she recently announced her split from husband Eric Johnson after 10 years of marriage.

The Dukes of Hazzard star — who is set to release a song about heartbreak on Friday and the rest of her revenge album next month amid her divorce — took to social media to share a throwback pH๏τo of herself as a young baby sitting in her father’s lap.

‘Happy Birthday, Dad!!! You are the most important blessing I’ve received throughout the duration of my entire life,’ she wrote in her caption alongside the sweet snapsH๏τ.

‘You have been my hero for as [long] as I can remember and I wouldn’t be who I am today without your pᴀssion, devotion, strength, joy, insight, wisdom, faith and LOVE,’ she continued.

She shared her adoration for her father as she gushed about how he ‘defines love’ for her. 

‘With everyone you fully share your heart,’ she penned. ‘You are my ALL and there is no better gift to receive than you! I love you so very much.’

The singer-songwriter added: You define love for me, ALWAYS.’ 

This comes after the actress left her fans doing a double take after sharing a rare pH๏τo of her mother Tina Simpson for the matriarch’s birthday last month.

After Simpson uploaded her post, many of her fans took to the comments section and said her mother looked ‘unrecognizable.’ 

Recently, fans have been pointing out Simpson’s changed appearance too after she underwent a major transformation and lost 100 lbs. over the past few years.
