American Idol finalist Catie Turner sparked concern among fans with her recent Instagram post. 

The singer, 25, who rose to fame on the talent show six years ago, shared a number of new images to mark her birthday, but some worried that she looked ‘unwell’ and ‘unrecognizable.’

Catie, who previously discussed her struggles with an eating disorder, wore a floral vest top and black mini skirt in the snaps, showcasing her lithe frame as she posed outside. 

Fans in the comments underneath the post expressed worries about her appearance, with one questioning, ‘Is she ok?’

‘I’m worried because 5 years ago she spoke about having an eating disorder and this isn’t looking healthy,’ someone else wrote.

She then added, ‘if u know someone is in active recovery from an eating disorder and call them fat i hope u rot and then get ur scrotum attacked by roaches.’

‘Once I posted a before and after of me losing 70+ lbs due to an ED on instagram basically saying “please god I am so miserable please f**k help help” and it got 11k likes in 9 minutes of everyone asking me for weight loss advice and congratulating me.’

In a 2019 interview with Stage Right Secrets, Catie discussed her commitment to transparency regarding mental health and eating disorders, stating, ‘I want to be as transparent as I can with my audience. I want to build that relationship and let them know that it is OKAY to talk about it and to be open.’

‘I want to fight the stigma that labels mental illness as a dirty word or a taboo topic.’
