George Clooney looks smart in a suit as he heads to Late Show with Stephen Colbert taping in New York City

George Clooney stepped out in just a thin suit when he was spotted arriving at a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday in chilly Manhattan.

The 63-year-old Oscar winner looked as if he was struggling to ʙuттon his jacket against the breeze while he was surrounded by show employees wearing considerably warmer winter coats.

But even if he was feeling the chill, Clooney didn’t betray it as he strutted into the studio.

He was set to chat with Colbert ahead of his Broadway debut in Good Night, And Good Luck, an adaptation of the 2005 film of the same name that he previously wrote, directed and acted in.

The multi-hyphenate was dressed in a navy-blue single-breasted suit with peaked lapels, which he could be seen ʙuттoning as he hit the curb.

He dressed down his suit with a black shirt, and instead of a tie, he wrapped a black scarf around himself to dull the frigid breeze.

Clooney wore classic black derby shoes and accessorized with a tasteful luxury wristwatch on a black leather strap.

The actor and filmmaker, who sported short salt-and-pepper hair swept to the side, will be starring in the upcoming play as the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow.

In his 2005 film, David Strathairn had played the lead role, while Clooney took a supporting role as CBS President Fred Friendly, in addition to working behind the camera.

The movie, which was sH๏τ in black-and-white, focused on Murrow’s reports on Senator Joseph McCarthy’s unfounded claims of communist infiltration in the US government, leading to a fiery confrontation between the two men on Murrow’s CBS broadcast ahead of the senator’s humiliation at the Army–McCarthy hearings and subsequent censure from the Senate.

The all-star cast also included Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Daniels, Patricia Clarkson, Frank Langella and Twin Peaks star Ray Wise.

Clooney’s film was a hit at the box office, grossing $54.6 million against a $7 million budget, and it earned six Oscar nominations, though it went home empty-handed.

In addition to taking over the lead role in Good Night, And Good Luck as his Broadway debut, Clooney has a high-profile film in the works.

He’s set to star in the ensemble feature dramedy Jay Kelly, marking his first appearance in a film directed by Barbie co-writer Noah Baumbach.

Clooney will be part of a mᴀssive case of A-listers, including Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Jim Broadbent, Baumbach’s wife Greta Gerwig and Emily Mortimer, who co-wrote the screenplay with Baumbach.

Few details have been revealed about the film, which will be released by Netflix, though it is reportedly a coming-of-age film.

Netflix hasn’t revealed the release strategy for later this year, but the streamer has previously given Baumbach’s films a limited theatrical release prior to their debut on the service.

Prior to his work with Gerwig on Barbie, Baumbach wrote and directed the Don DeLillo adaptation White Noise, the Oscar winner Marriage Story and The Meyerowitz Stories for Netflix.
