Unforgotten viewers have blasted ITV for ‘ruining’ the acclaimed crime drama and some predict it could be axed next year after the ‘woke and nonsensical’ storylines.
Created by multi-award-winning screenwriter Chris Lang, Unforgotten follows detectives as they delve into cold cases.
The most recent instalment of the sixth series aired on Monday evening and saw DCI Jessica ‘Jessie’ James (Sinéad Keenan) and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) work on Gerry Cooper’s unsolved murder and ᴀssess suspects.
Mel and Asif raised suspicions with the detectives after they claim they don’t recall Gerry. While Marty also caused concern when he asked for a break to think about his story.
However, the latest episode caused uproar among some viewers who accused the show of going ‘full on woke’.
Many TV watchers took to social media to share their opinions on the crime drama.

One viewer posted on X: ‘I reckon one more series and this show will get mothballed or even fully axed.
‘Unfortunately this one is a real box-ticking leftie crowd-pleaser. Such a shame that mᴀss popularity television invariably descends into safe and bland dross. Sanj and Sinead wasted.’

‘What the hell has happened to #Unforgotten it’s gone full on woke!! Switched off @ITV.’;

Another watcher agreed with the ‘woke’ claims but expressed they they were ‘still enjoying’ the show.
They penned: ‘Up to episode 4 of #Unforgotten Look forward to seeing how all the pieces of the puzzle will fit together. Some great acting.
‘Is it too woke? Probably – but I am still enjoying it as, in a few years time when we see repeats, we will consider it an astute look at UK in 2025.’
While someone else said: ‘Brilliant series! Recommend Unforgotten … near tears at the end #unforgotten #itv.’
