Saturday Night Live fans were left in hysterics as Mike Myers returned as iconic character Linda Richman for the show’s star-studded 50th anniversary on Sunday.
The comedian, 61, who last played middle-aged Coffee Chat host in 1997, slipped back on her iconic wig and false nails for a new sketch with Amy Poehler, 53, and Maya Rudolph, 52.
The two women returned as Bronx Beat hosts Betty and Jodi and interviewed Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller, 37, before Linda stormed the stage.
During the skit the character whipped out her famous catchphrases as she complimented the hosts for having skin like ‘ʙuттah’ before choking back tears after becoming a ‘little verklempt’.
Fans were delighted to see the Shrek actor, who was cast member on the show 1989 to 1995, as his iconic character’s return ‘made their night’.
Taking to X they wrote: ‘Mike Myers is still killing it as Linda Richman’: ‘My favourite SNL character of all time is Linda Richman. Don’t ask me why but Mike Myers does a great NY Jewish woman. So when he showed up, it made my night’: ‘Mike Myers as Linda Richman is still ‘ʙuттah’.

It comes after Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ shock return to the spotlight at Sunday’s SNL50: The Anniversary Special drew a strong reaction from fans online as the high-profile show wrapped up.
Lively and Reynolds were joined by a litany of fellow A-listers at the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the NBC staple, including SNL alums Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Bill Murray, Leslie Jones, David Spade and Jon Lovitz.
But as the high-profile show concluded – marking the return of the couple to the limelight amid scandal and litigation – a number of social media users had critical words of Lively, 37, attending her first red carpet event in two months. She had not attended a public event since the scandal with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, 41, erupted late last year.
During the broadcast, Reynolds, 48, poked fun at their scandal with Justin Baldoni in a skit with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Reynolds stood up from the audience alongside Lively, 37, and said, ‘I have a question.’
He was asked, ‘Oh Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?’ to which the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool star ᴅᴇᴀᴅpanned, ‘Great – why, what have you heard?’ – in a nod to the months of headlines regarding the troubled production of the summer hit It Ends with Us.
On social media, the reaction was swift, as the consensus among many commenters was that the powerful couple was using their clout to try and maneuver public sentiment back on their side after months of bad headlines.
‘How sweet of SNL to try and do damage control for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively—but it won’t work,’ said one user.

Another remarked of the show, ‘Gross. So they’re supporting the bullies too.’
One person said Reynolds’ ‘desperation is showing,’ while another said of the pair, ‘Those 2 are cringe at this point…’

Said one commenter: ‘Way to try and do damage control for Ryan and Blake. Disgusting!!! Besides SNL hasn’t been funny for a decade!’
Another added, ’50 years of SNL will always be remembered as the place Blake and Ryan went to once during their scandal.’
Said one user: ‘To me it’s clear that Blake Lively was pretending to be shocked. What’s with the funny jokester atтιтudes Blake and Ryan have?
‘They really think they can fool us into thinking it’s all a big joke to them and they are above the disastrous narrative that’s forming around them???’

One user said that the stress from the scandal was reflected in Reynolds’ weary look on Sunday: ‘I audibly gasped! He looks awful!’
Said one user: ‘How much of a narcissist does Ryan Reynolds have to be to do this bit on #SNL50;’ another asked, ‘Is that supposed to be funny? At this point, why are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds even attending any events?’
The last time Lively stepped on a red carpet came on December 11, 2024 at the 2024 Beauty Inc Awards in New York City.
The outing came weeks before litigation with Baldoni commenced. Lively and Reynolds put on a united front as they attended the TV event in the Big Apple at Rockefeller Plaza amid months of scandal.
The couple was seen in a posed sH๏τ shared by SNL alum Chevy Chase – no stranger to on-set controversy himself – on Instagram Sunday.

Said one user: ‘Not Ryan and Blake, but love everyone else! Not sure why they are the first pic;’ another user suggested to Chase, ‘Delete the first pic.’
Another user asked, ‘Did you hire an intimacy coordinator for that picture with Blake? Hope you recorded everything in case you get sued.’
Another user added, ‘Be careful Chevy she might accuse you of something!’ while another said, ‘Blake is cancelled.’
