Leo Woodall has revealed he isn’t ‘bothered’ by the toyboy label after his age-gap romance in the new Bridget Jones film. 

The One Day star, 28, plays Renee Zellweger’s character Bridget’s much-younger love interest, Roxster, in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. 

Leo insisted he isn’t fazed by the ‘toyboy’ phrase, adding that romances between younger men and older women aren’t ‘that unusual’. 

The British actor also gave a rare update on his relationship with his White Lotus co-star Meghann Fahy, 34, who is six years his senior.

The couple – who looked loved-up at a Bridget Jones screening earlier this week – have been тιԍнт-lipped in the press since they began dating in 2022. 

In a rare comment, Leo told The Telegraph he is ‘very, very happy’ with the American actress and added that ‘everything would be a bit too crazy without her there’.

The actor, 28, also gave a rare update on his relationship with Meghann Fahy, 34

They met in Sicily while filming season two of the hit drama, The White Lotus, and have been going strong ever since.

Discussing his Bridget Jones character’s label as a ‘toyboy’, he told the outlet: ‘[The toyboy phrase] is being used a lot. 

‘And look: I’m someone who typically leans into wanting to find the humour in things, and not taking things too seriously, particularly when it pertains to myself.

‘So it’s not the phrase that bothers me, really. It’s more that in the story, Roxster is actually more than just a toyboy, they do have a real relationship and find a real connection.’

He added that people just ‘aren’t used’ to seeing a younger man/older woman dynamic onscreen, whereas the older man/younger woman romance has been shown ‘countless times’.

Leo and Meghann confirmed dating rumours in November 2023 when they were spotted kissing under an umbrella in New York City. 

On January 15, Leo affectionately embraced the Emmy-nominated actress during Max’s Post Emmys Reception at San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood.

A month later, the Bold Type actress seemingly confirmed her relationship with Leo in an Instagram post. In the pH๏τo, the two walked away from the camera with their arms around each other. 

Meghann then publicly flirted with Leo on March 5 by commenting on his BTS Instagram post: ‘I’ll say it again Leo for president.’

He bashfully replied: ‘Oh go on then.’

The couple enjoyed a romantic New Year’s Trip to the Maldives at the end of 2024, with Meghann sharing a pH๏τo of their shadows kissing in the sand. 

Earlier this month, Leo revealed why he keeps his relationship with Meghann private.

‘We’re very good at keeping it as private as we can,’ he told Elle.

‘To me, that’s the only way. You see public relationships all the time slapped all over social media and I can’t imagine that’s any fun. 

‘[Your relationship] should be a safe space, so I think letting people into it is completely counter-productive.’

Leo added that he is ‘very, very happy’ with Meghann, who he began dating in 2022 after meeting her on the set of The White Lotus

The pair didn’t walk the red carpet together at the premiere of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, but Meghann did attend the after-party. 

Earlier this week, Leo shut down questions about his love life while in Australia on the Bridget Jones promo tour.

Journalist Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli was left red-faced when Leo snapped at him during an interview after the Nova radio star asked him about his love life.

The breakfast host, 45, was chatting to Leo and his co-star Renee about their new movie – and the subject quickly turned to their personal lives.

‘Leo, are you in love at the moment?’ Wippa asked.

‘That’s none of your business!’ Leo hit back.
