Sarah Hyland accused of being ‘rude’ and a ‘tyrant’ by Kristin Cavallari’s ex

Sarah Hyland was accused of being ‘rude’ and a ‘tyrant’ by Kristin Cavallari’s ex Jeff Dye.

Dye posted a clip of himself on The George Janko Show and telling the podcast host about his experience working with the Modern Family actress, 34, on The Wedding Year.

Alongside the sneak peek of Thursday’s podcast episode shared on Instagram, the 42-year-old stand-up comedian — who was linked to The Hills alum Cavallari for five months in 2020 and 2021 — wrote in his caption: ‘Sarah Hyland sucks.’

This comes as Hyland faces a lawsuit from her former manager, who sued her over alleged unpaid commissions owed from Modern Family.

Dye, who also seemingly defended Kanye West and his antisemitic actions in the same podcast episode, talked about being an extra on the set of the 2019 romantic comedy starring Hyland, Tyler James Williams, Jenna Dewan, Anna Camp and Wanda Sykes.

He recalled being on set for only a short amount of time but said he had a poor experience because of the former Love Island USA host, whom he described as ‘terrible.’

‘I did a movie. It was called The Wedding Year. I played Anna Camp’s husband, so I’m on set for, I don’t know, 30 seconds, right? That’s how big my role was,’ he began in the short teaser from their podcast episode.

‘But in the time that I had to be on set, Sarah Hyland was the lead, from Modern Family,’ he explained. ‘She’s, like, a pretty woman that chain smokes and is terrible.’

Dye said the actress ‘such a tyrant’ and ‘rude to everyone.’

He also recalled overhearing a particular exchange that shocked him but misnamed the movie director Robert Luketic.

‘At one point, she said this, “David” — who is the director — “there’s extras eating at the craft service table.” Like, she was annoyed that some extras wanted f***ing free granola bars, like it was in her kitchen or something,’ he said.

‘She hated me by the way,’ Dye continued. ‘Like just hated me. At one point, she said, and this is also a quote, “You’re what is wrong with people.”

‘Because I’m an actual man, you know? She’s not used to ever like, you know, masculine energy of any sort.’

Then, the Better Late Than Ever star recalled another moment when he claimed Hyland started ‘crying’ in front of the cast and crew.

‘She tried to show everyone, like, the new Dumbo trailer, [which] had dropped,’ he said before noting that Hyland was the most famous person working on the film, so the people on set were allegedly catering to her whims.

‘They’re all, like, in this hierarchy of Hollywood, where [it’s like], “She’s number one on the call sheet. We have to pander to her.” She wanted to show them the Dumbo trailer on a phone, right? And we’re all like around [her]. “Oh, she’s showing us something on her phone.”‘

He continued: ‘She starts crying to, like, let us know how moved she is by the Dumbo trailer, I just said — I didn’t even meant it, I just wanted to ruin the moment — I go, “Yeah, that looks gay.”‘

As the podcast hosts burst out laughing, he again said she ‘hated’ him.

‘She literally, if she could like have me removed from, like, a moment or anything, like, I ruined her little show, piece of, like, “Look how much I’m into the arts, that I’m moved by Dumbo,” and I just wanted to ruin it. And I did.

‘I ruined it, and she hated me,’ he continued. ‘And I, you know, whatever, I was off the set the next day.’
