Shakira has been accused of copying Beyonce for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour – which officially kicked off this week on Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker, 48 – who won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album earlier this month – has embarked on her first tour in seven years in support of the 2024 LP of the same name.
However, social media users were quick to point out some similarities to Shakira’s concert and Beyonce’s record-breaking Renaissance Tour in 2023.
Fans were divided as they shared their thoughts on X after one uploaded side-by-side comparisons of the stage set up from each of the tours.
‘Shakira went to the RENAISSANCE world tour and took notes,’ followed by a crying face emoji. ‘THE INSPIRATION BEYONCE IS.’
‘Girl she took more than notes. She took the whole set up,’ another wrote, as one added, ‘even the dancers.’

‘Notes? She stole it. If this was Beyonce -,’ another shared, and a fan also referenced to a past quote from Shakira’s interview with Billboard in 2023.
Her appearance at Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour had been brought up and the She Wolf songstress said: ‘I was working! I definitely can’t tour with as many trucks as Beyonce, but I was taking notes.’
‘IM CRYING IT’S ALMOST THE SAME EXACT FONT AND EVERYTHING??? WELCOME BACK RENAISSANCE TOUR,’ one typed out.
Another added, ‘Took notes, pH๏τos, videos, font files, etc,’ and one added, ‘That’s actually called plagiarism unfortunately.’
‘Shakira went to RENAISSANCE and left with a PhD in Beyonceology. True queen behavior,’ a fan penned, with others also defending the Columbian-born songstress.
One wrote, ‘I would have gorged on renny tour nachos too literally the production of our times!!!’ and another shared, ‘She’s allowed lol.’
‘And you know what that’s fine cuz they’re besties,’ an X user added, while one wrote, ‘Both Queens. They take inspiration from each other.’

The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour officially kicked off on Tuesday, February 11 in Rio de Janeiro and is slated to conclude later this year on June 30 in San Francisco.
Some fans also compared Shakira’s costumes on her latest tour to those that Beyonce also wore – including silver metallic looks.
Her stylist, Nicolas Bru, recently sat down with Harper’s Bazaar to open up about Shakira’s stage ensembles – with some being designed by Versace. Beyonce also wore outfits from the same designer on the Renaissance Tour.
‘The first designer we reached out to was Donatella Versace for the opening look; [the show] kicks off with a lot of pop, electronic songs and we really wanted something bold, fun, Sєxy, confident and strong – and that’s Versace.’

The Crazy In Love hitmaker’s 2023 tour broke records when it came to ticket sales and was in support of her seventh studio album.
After the tour came to an end, a film was released that gave a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the concerts called Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce.
Shakira first announced she was embarking on a world tour last year in April and at the time wrote: ‘I’m so thrilled to announce the first dates for my LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR, a celebration for my wolfpack!’
Both Shakira and Beyonce have been close friends and collaborators for years, and worked on tracks such as the 2006 song Beautiful Liar.

‘The queen. What can I tell you, she’s the queen. I mean, she’s just so incredible, what she does for minorities in the U.S. and around the world, what she’s done for women of color, [and] what she’s done for women in general.’
‘The purpose that her life and her music has is undeniable, and it’s of a great magnitude.’
Shakira added, ‘I don’t even think we realize what she’s done at a social level, on a social scale, on a political level as well.’
The star then added, ‘Just participating with her, watching her work I realized wow, there are people who work as hard as I do. She’s a hard worker. She’s a bee. A busy bee. She’s Queen Bey.’

‘She’s also very detail-oriented, really involved, and curious. She wanted to learn… I remember she wanted to learn some of my moves. She’s like, “Teach me how you do that.”‘
The singer continued, ‘You can tell that she’s a person that is constantly growing because she observes and she learns. And, having that intellectual curiosity, I think is what makes you evolve as an artist.’
