Jordan North teases HUGE upcoming TV gig and reveals date when he will start filming for the ‘intense’ show

Jordan North hinted at a shock appearance on the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday.

The Capital FM DJ, 34, came second on the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, but is now looking for a challenge closer to home.

He told The Sun: ‘I’ve signed up for an ITV show but can’t say what yet. We start filming in April.

‘I’m excited, it’s intense. Many people don’t think I’d do it but when I got asked, I was like “it’ll be a laugh”.’

Jordan also revealed that a host of stars would be joining the Big Brother cast this year after the success of the rebooted all-star series last spring, but refused to name any names.

The TV personality, who hosts the channel’s popular breakfast show, also declared his intention to join the second season of ITV’s spin-off jungle show I’m A Celeb… South Africa.

The revelation came during the presenter’s appearance at the TV Choice Awards this week where he cut a dapper figure in a tweed blazer and black trousers.

During the glitzy ceremony, Nicola Coughlan scooped home the prize for Best Comedy Performance for her role in Big Mood but was pipped by Toby Jones for Best Drama Performance thanks to his portrayal in Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Jordan’s announcement comes after Chris Hughes reportedly signed up for Celebrity Big Brother after being snapped up by show bosses.

The former reality TV heartthrob, 32, who first rose to fame on the 2017 series of Love Island, is set to join the star-studded lineup for the new season, according to The Sun.

Now a well-established TV sports correspondent, Chris is determined to prove there’s more to him than just his reality TV past – and he’s ready to bring the drama.

A source told the publication: ‘Producers think Chris will be a great addition to the house. He is really entertaining and was one of the most popular and iconic reality contestants with a mᴀssive social media following.

‘Execs are hoping he will bring his huge young fanbase with him to the show, along with some juicy tales.

‘He’s got loads of showbiz mates and has some famous ex girlfriends – he’ll be brilliant.’

Last year’s Celebrity Big Brother’s launch episode attracted the biggest audience in over a decade with 3.8m viewers tuning in, seven-day consolidated figures show.

Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the reality show sees a cast of famous faces enter the iconic Big Brother house, where they embark on the ultimate social experiment by becoming isolated from the outside world.

Leaving luxury behind, the celebrities will take part in nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Bosses have been thrilled with how CBB has performed.

‘They were already looking forward to series two of the civilian series in the autumn and have now added a second series of the CBB to the pot.

‘The number of viewers watching live has sat solidly above 1million all series which is meaty for a daily show at 9pm…’

It comes after Big Brother ratings slumped to their lowest ever viewership on launch night in November.

For the highly anticipated return of the UK’s first social experiment, only 825,000 people tuned into ITV to watch the live premiere.

The ratings represented less than half of last year’s simulcast launch.

But it was not all bad news, as 25 percent of those viewers were aged 16-34, in line with ITV2’s airing last year.

While it may be the lowest-ever opener in terms of numbers, it is on par with 2023 which was an overnight series average.

It’s a far cry from the 2.5 million viewers the first episode attracted, but that was also simulcast across ITV1.

The 2024 opener was exclusive to ITV2 and ITVX and was not broadcast across ITV1.

People watching on ITVX or on catch-up were not included in the viewership numbers, only those who watched live were considered for the count.
