Kyle Christie has bravely opened up about his life-changing health diagnosis for the first time.

The Geordie Shore star, 32, took to Instagram on Tuesday and spoke about his secret health battle that he has dealt with for the past 23 years.

Sharing a video where he candidly talked about his diagnosis, he said: ‘It’s finally time for me to publicly share my journey with Type 1 Diabetes.

‘I’ve been getting so many messages and comments recently about what’s on my arm and I can’t ignore them anymore.

‘Having families message me, who know what my sensor is and what it does, made me realise it’s time to share exactly what I’ve been dealing with for the past 23 years.

‘This is not a sob story but a chance for me to show everyone Diabetes shouldn’t limit what you can do and I’m living proof of that.’

Kyle sH๏τ to fame on Geordie Shore in 2014, where he quickly struck up an on-off relationship with Holly Hagan.

He briefly left the programme in the eleventh series before re-joining and quitting again at the end of the thirteenth.

The reality star then went onto enjoy a successful career on US TV becoming one of the leading cast members of the show The Challenge. 

In December, Kyle revealed he officially tied the knot to his long-term partner Vicky Turner.

He married his stunning bride in a beautiful ceremony at St George Church in East Boldon.

The star announced the happy news on Instagram accompanied by a collection of adorable wedding snaps.

In one, the couple shared a pᴀssionate kiss, while their son Crew, three, joined them for a heartwarming family portrait.

Kyle and his son both looked dashing in matching black suits, while Vicky wowed in a sparkling white waistcoat paired with a satin cream skirt.

Alongside the snaps, he penned: ‘Legally Mr & Mrs Christie, next stop Rome,’ referring to their upcoming second ceremony.

Kyle’s celebrity pals took to the comments to congratulate the star on his big day, with Sophie Kasaei writing: ‘Roll on the big day.’

Nathan Henry said: ‘Awwww love this congratulations,’ while James Tindale gushed: ‘You both look incredible! Congratulations can’t wait for the Rome wedding.’

Chloe Ferry added: ‘Congratulations,’ with a champagne cheers emoji and red love heart.

Back in September, Kyle got down on one-knee and popped the question while on a lavish private yacht in Italy, with the picturesque Amalfi Coast as the backdrop.

He dressed to impress in a crisp white shirt and beige shorts, while Vicky wowed in a gorgeous silver shimmering dress.

In September 2021, Kyle and Vicky announced they had welcomed a baby boy named Crew Jax.

In the snap, Kylie posed shirtless while cradling his baby son in his arms and giving him a sweet kiss on her forehead.

Kyle wrote: ‘Crew Jax Christie. Born: 15:57, 13th September 2021 Weighing: 8 pounds 6 oz. Welcome to the world Crew you are so loved, we couldn’t of asked for a more perfect little boy. Mam & Dad love you so much.’

In the UK about 90 per cent of diabetic adults have Type 2 diabetes

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar level to become too high.

There are two main types of diabetes: 

– Type 1, where the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. 

– Type 2, where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body’s cells do not react to insulin. 

Type 2 diabetes is far more common than Type 1. 

In the UK, around 90% of all adults with diabetes have Type 2. 

Reducing the risk of Type 2 diabetes can be achieved through healthy eating, regular exercise and achieving a healthy body weight. 

The main symptoms of diabetes include: feeling very thirsty, urinating more frequently (particularly at night), feeling very tired, weight loss, and loss of muscle bulk.
