The viral bootcut designer jeans Kendrick Lamar wore during his Super Bowl halftime performance were originally meant for a different A-lister.

Lamar’s stylist Taylor McNeil initially sourced the $1,300 denim for another client — actor Timothée Chalamet, 29.

According to an insider who spoke with Page Six, the size 29 women’s jeans coincidentally turned out to be a perfect fit for the 37-year-old rapper, even though he typically wears a size 33.

The Celine trousers are described on the website as a ‘flared surf jean in summer dazed wash.’

Kendrick and Timothée’s five-inch height difference (the former is 5’5″ while the latter is 5’10”) could explain why the jeans were so long on the Compton-bred artist.

McNeill’s other notable clients include Charli XCX and Dominic Fike.

For Sunday’s game-day event, she also styled the hitmaker in a one-of-a-kind blue leather Martine Rose bomber jacket with custom embroidery and archival sports panels.

Additionally, the DAMN. artist also sported a diamond Rahiminov brooch valued at $68,000 on his hat.

Fans had a strong reaction to Kendrick’s fashion-forward look, with many taking to social media to comment.

One person joked: ‘I want to know why Kendrick is wearing my high-school girlfriend’s jeans?’ 

Someone else recalled, ‘I love Kendrick and I don’t understand fashion but those jeans are the exact same ones I wore in grade 7 in 2003 that hung down past my puffy skate shoes and were constantly soaked at the bottom and tattered at the heels.’

There was also a viewer who joked, ‘Kendrick’s flared jeans dragging on the floor triggering every millennial girly watching.’

Another hilarious post read: ‘Kendrick Lamar’s jeans scream “I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.”’

During the halftime show the rapper had a surprise introduction from actor Samuel L. Jackson, 76, who was dressed up as Uncle Sam.

He went on to perform a medley of his hits, including SZA collaborations All the Stars and luther.

Another surprise cameo came from former athlete and Lamar’s fellow Compton native Serena Williams. 

The 43-year-old retired tennis star stormed the stage with the Grammy-winning entertainer to perform a flawless crip walk while dressed in a blue mini skirt and matching jacket. 

It came as he rapped his huge, Grammy-winning 2024 hit Not Like Us — the song that cemented him as the unofficial winner of his rap battle with nemesis Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, who is Serena’s ex.
