Hollyoaks stars Emmett J. Scanlan and Ashley Taylor Dawson engaged in a very animated chat outside the TV Choice Awards on Monday night.

Emmett, 46, put on an lively display as he was seen flapping his arms about in front of Ashley, 43.

Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts, who currently stars in Coronation Street, appeared close to the duo during the conversation. 

The Netflix star joined Hollyoaks in 2010, playing Brendan Brady, and left the soap in 2013.

After the soap kick started his career, Emmett went onto star in Netflix’s Fool Me Once with Michelle Keegan.

Ashley kept his hands in pockets as tensions seemingly flared between the pair, following the star-studded awards

He also appeared in the BBC Two drama The Fall in 2013 and 2014, as well as Peaky Blinders Series 5 and 6.

Ashley, who previously starred alongside Emmett, has starred as Darren Osborne in the soap since 1999.

Emmett is happily married to Hollyoaks star Claire Cooper.

Claire and Emmett welcomed their second child together in November 2023, with the actress sharing a gallery of sweet snaps with the newborn.

Emmett shared a snap of the moment he prepared to bring his daughter home from hospital, with the caption: ‘Fiáin-Luna Scanlan. 12.11.22.’

Claire then took to social media to share an adorable snap cradling her baby daughter, while revealing the sweet meaning behind her name.

Just hours earlier, Emmett took to Instagram to share with his followers that their baby girl had arrived three days earlier.

Sharing a sweet snap while cradling his daughter’s hand, Emmett penned the caption: ‘3 days ago we met her…. #ScanClan,’ while adding on Twitter: ‘Welcome Home baby.’

Emmett and Claire married in 2015, and they are also parents to son Ocean-Torin Scanlan, two.
