Diplo is giving his fans a glimpse into his drug habits after using substances to enhance his Super Bowl experience over the weekend.
The 46-year-old electronic music producer revealed on the red carpet of Michael Rubin’s 2025 Fanatics Super Bowl Party on Saturday that he was tripping on LSD at the moment.
When asked for his thoughts on various drugs, he admitted he was ‘on it now’ when the questioning turned to LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide).
Diplo went on to say that the extremely potent psychedelic drug — which is designated as Schedule I in the US, making it illegal for both medical and recreational use — was his drug of choice, as he rarely drinks and isn’t a fan of marijuana or even other psychedelics like shrooms.
He also confirmed in a video obtained by TMZ that he was tripping on acid during a hilarious New Year’s Eve segment that set off a laugh riot from CNN hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
After sharing his advice that everyone try to stay active and ‘sweat one hour’ per day, Diplo shared that he rarely drinks.

A H๏τ toddy he had the night before because his ‘throat hurt’ was the exception that proved the rule.
When asked about weed, he said he doesn’t ‘like putting any smoke’ in his body or ‘anything in his nose,’ which would presumably have ruled out cocaine or other drugs that are primarily snorted or inhaled.

‘I like acid, though,’ Diplo volunteered.
He explained that he achieved his desired results by ‘only tak[ing] a little bit.’
‘I’m not tripping, I’m not about to do backflips,’ he joked.
Although the DJ stressed that he wasn’t going to recommend that anyone do drugs, he suggested someone who was interested should gravitate toward psychedelic drugs, and then only use a small amount to microdose.
He added that that he found the effect much more effect than an ‘antidepressant,’ and it avoided the pitfalls of other drugs that are known to be addictive.
Diplo said he likes to microdose acid four to five times a week, and he said he no longer feels the effects after about two hours when he’s taking a small amount like that.

On NYE 2024, Andy Cohen questioned Diplo about the most ‘conventional’ place he’d ever dropped acid, he replied, ‘Right now. I did some on the helicopter on the way here’
Diplo fans got to see one of his trips up close and personal on New Year’s Eve last year when he joined CNN hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
After Cohen asked him about the most ‘conventional’ place he’d ever dropped acid, he replied, ‘Right now. I did some on the helicopter on the way here.’
Cooper couldn’t contain his giggles at that point, while Cohen, a longtime Grateful ᴅᴇᴀᴅ fan, had to inquire about his dosing strategy.
Although Diplo said he had only microdosed before the ball drop, he also admitted to taking a full-size dose earlier in the day, which could have been effective for eight to 12 hours, though some trips can last as long as 20 hours.
Although LSD’s legal status has hampered research into its potential benefits and uses as a medical treatment, preliminary studies into its ability to treat depression and addiction have shown promising results.
The substance is also not considered addictive, as opposed to many of habit-forming illegal drugs, as well as highly addictive legal substances like alcohol and tobacco.
