Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ mom accuses widow Allison Holker of tarnishing his legacy with debt and drug claims

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ mom, Connie Boss Alexander, has accused his widow, Allison Holker, of ‘denigrating’ his memory after exposing his alleged drug use in her new memoir.

While appearing on CBS Mornings, the late dancer’s mother, 60,  expressed her concerns about the book to Gayle King as she attempts to preserve his legacy.

‘I don’t believe that there was that type of issue, that type of problem,’ Connie insisted in response to Holker’s claim that she found a ‘cornucopia of drugs’ hidden in her home following her spouse’s death by suicide in December 2022 at age 40.

She continued: ‘And don’t get me wrong, I applaud speaking about mental health awareness, ’cause of course, there was something going on there at the end that we’re not aware of.’

‘I applaud that,’ the star’s mom added. ‘And if that was the intent of the book to make people aware, look out for these type of signs, there’s a way to say that in general without denigrating the memory and the legacy that he built and that’s there for his children.’

Connie went on to say it bothers her that ‘there’s now this question in the air when his name comes up.’

When asked directly if she believes the claims have tarnished tWitch’s legacy, Connie replied: ‘I do. I do.’

On February 4, Holker released her memoir, This Far: My Story Of Love, Loss, And Embracing The Light, in which she shared some of his private journal entries.

tWitch’s mom and his brother Dre Rose sat down with Gayle King for CBS Mornings on Friday for their first TV interview since his pᴀssing a little over two years earlier.

The pair responded to Holker’s public press tour and memoir – in which she also wrote about how her late husband left her with a ‘financial mess’ due to ‘reckless drug spending.’

‘I think people deserve the ability to share their story. I get that,’ Dre expressed to King while sitting next to his mother.

‘But how it was presented and how it was on a cover of a magazine and there was a public, you know, launch or campaign about it, we shouldn’t have to find out about that…in the media. We’re a family.’

King then questioned, ‘And that’s how you found out about it? In the public campaign?’ to which Dre simply replied with, ‘Correct.’

Gayle also asked the late star’s mother and brother if they have ‘interest’ in reading any of his journals.

After a silent pause, Connie said, ‘I think so. Just to feel closer to him, ’cause these are his thoughts.’

‘Maybe get a clearer understanding, you know, he’s my son. I know who he was and what he was thinking from time to time, so yeah, I think I would.’

Dre added, ‘I would love to see all of the journals in its entirety. I think those journals will tell you a lot.’

‘I think there’s things in those journals that are good and bad, but I also believe there’s journals about his personal life, his marital life that are in there.’

He continued, ‘I feel – believe that there’s been a cherry-picking of things from the journal to reveal or share. And if we’re just gonna be completely honest, talk about it all.’

Last month in January, a source told DailyMail.com that the late dancer’s family were ‘furious’ due to being ‘forced’ to sign an NDA following his pᴀssing in 2022.

Connie notably released a statement in response to the claims Holker penned in the memoir – which his family was not allowed to see before being published.

The insider said at the time that, ‘tWitch’s family is preparing to fight back against Allison after she came out with those scathing allegations about him. The family disapproves what she’s said and will be speaking out about the untruths.’

His loved ones also did not get an ‘advanced copy’ of the tell-all book and had ‘to wait for the book to be released just like everyone else.’

‘Once the memoir comes out next month, the family plans on releasing another statement after they read all the allegations written about him.’

‘They don’t believe she’s telling the full truth and rather, that she has been misleading the public. The family is fired up and won’t be sitting back much longer, especially after what she put them through.’

The source added, ‘They’re furious that they were not given an advanced copy let alone not given a heads up about what’s inside the book.’

His family also felt that they were limited as to what they could say due to signing an NDA after his death.

And in her statement at the time, Connie expressed, ‘Our family is absolutely appalled by the misleading and hurtful claims made about my son, Stephen Boss.’

‘The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency. As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished.’

‘He doesn’t deserve this, and the kids don’t deserve this. For the last two years, I have remained quiet and away from the public eye to protect my family.’

She added, ‘My primary focus has been on healing and attempting to remain connected to my grandchildren.’

‘But when I read these dreadful claims about my baby, our beloved Stephen, I realized I could not stay silent any longer. Our family will ensure his name and memory are protected, and we are committed to defending his honor.’

Allison and Stephen tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed two children together: Maddox, eight, and Zaia, five.

Upon marrying, Boss also adopted Holker’s daughter Weslie, 16, from a previous relationship.

Last month, the teenager came to her mother’s defense over the dancer requesting family members sign an NDA at his funeral.

‘My stepdad’s been gone for two years and I’m still getting hate comments,’ Weslie said during an Instagram Live.

‘Y’all love to argue about the NDAs. But on one day, we had an open casket viewing for Stephen. We had a funeral, and then we had a week.’

‘And my mom asked for NDAs to be signed when we were seeing Stephen’s body because God forbid somebody that went to that took a pH๏τo of Stephen and put it on the internet or shared it with somebody else.’

She added, ‘That’s the type of thing that NDAs are for. It’s not so you can never talk about Stephen.’

Weslie continued to defend Holker by expressing, ‘She understands at the end of the day, like, this is family.’

‘So y’all want to disrespect her [while] she’s still nice, she’s still kind, she’s still forgiving, but you have to know, like, even when Stephen was alive people that attended our events, they would have to sign NDAs.’

‘But now, just because it’s my mom handing the paper, it’s different and it’s just annoying,’ the teen shared.

She also gave insight to the funeral and said, ‘That whole day was supposed to be beautiful, and instead, it was less than that.’

‘We were gonna say our goodbyes, and instead, people were yelling at each other and bashing my mom and that’s a day that’s taken away from her – she can’t remember it as being the day that we all wanted to be because his family was making it otherwise.’

‘It’s just complicated and for no reason. It’s not just a social media gig; this is literally my life. I’m so sick of getting hate comments and seeing my mom get hate for literally losing the person that she loves.’

She added, ‘And I have siblings. This is their dad – this is who they’re gonna grow up and they’re gonna see all this on social media that’s so hurtful.’

She told People, ‘It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about].’

‘It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.’

Allison brought up his journals and stated, ‘He was wrestling with a lot inside himself.’

‘And he was trying to self-medicate and cope with all those feelings because he didn’t want to put it on anyone because he loved everyone so much.’
