Unforgotten fans were left saying the same thing as the ITV drama returned to screens on Sunday.
The sixth series of the ITV crime show stars Sinéad Keenan, 47, as DCI Jessica ‘Jessie’ James and Sanjeev Bhaskar, 61, as DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan and returned after a two-year absence.
Created by multi-award-winning screenwriter Chris Lang, Unforgotten follows detectives as they work to solve cold cases.
Yet while some fans enjoyed the first instalment, many were left confused by the storyline.

The Mail’s Christopher Stevens was among fans of the sixth season, describing the show as ‘brilliant’ and commented on the show’s ‘ability to spin half a dozen simultaneous plots without ever letting one wobble.’
Series five of the show broke the hearts of fans as they lamented the loss of a lead character, DCI Cᴀssie Stuart played by Nicola Walker, who was killed off at the end of the fourth series.
The first episode of the fifth series saw the team getting to work to identify a murder victim after a severed leg was discovered inside a chimney.
It also saw DCI Jessica clash with Sunny, who is grieving the untimely death of his colleague – prompting sad fans to take to Twitter and share their own feelings.
One took to the social media platform to write: ‘Omg, that was truly heartbreaking, Cᴀssie we miss you.’
Unforgotten airs Monday night on 9pm on ITV1 and STV. All episodes can be streamed now on ITVX.
