Kesha and Sam Smith made sure all eyes were on them as they stepped out in style at the Christian Cowan show during New York Fashion Week on Friday night.

Singer Kesha, 37, pulled out all the stops as she put on a very leggy display in a statement ensemble while posing alongside Sam, 32.

She showed off her incredible figure in a plunging black mini dress with a daring lace bodice and a velvet skirt.

She added height to her frame with a pair of knee-high black boots and carried her belongings in a custom-made bag which featured the name of her hit single, Joyride.

Kesha smouldered into the camera and completed her look wrapped in a purple leather jacket with black fur trim and also sported a pair of sunglᴀsses. 

She was joined by singer Sam – who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – who looked dapper in a vibrant suit.

The Unholy hitmaker turned heads in a black shirt and trousers, which they styled with an oversized blazer jacket with red spotted patterns printed across it.

Sam sported a pair of square glᴀsses and groomed their facial hair into a handlebar moustache to complete their suave ensemble.

Sam and Kesha were there in support of Sam’s fashion designer boyfriend, Christian Cowan as he debuted his fall/winter 2025 collection at NYFW.

They have been dating since 2022 after meeting when Christian collaborated with Sam on the costumes for their music video, I’m Not Here to Make Friends.

Christian, whose clientele includes A-list stars Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and Heidi Klum, confirmed his romance with Sam with a kiss in January 2023 as the two walked together arm-in-arm in New York.

It marks Sam’s first public relationship since their split from 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn, 30, and after they came out as non-binary in 2019.

In 2019, Sam revealed that they identify as non-binary and asked to be addressed by the pronouns they/them instead of he/him. 

Sam wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.’

Speaking about their gender, Sam added: ‘I’m not male or female, I think I flow somewhere in between. It’s all on the spectrum.’ 

The singer, known for hits Dancing With a Stranger, Too Good At Goodbyes and 2015 Bond track Writing’s on the Wall, also said they are open to dating whomever they fall in love with.

‘I generally have never really thought about people, any human beings, in rigid terms,’ they shared.

‘I’ve grown up in a family where the gender power balance and all these things were completely shifted.

‘My mum worked, my dad was a househusband. My sisters are incredibly strong women.’

As well as their romance with Brandon Flynn, Sam also dated Jonathan Zeizel and thanked the model for ‘breaking their heart’ because it led to four Grammy wins.

Sam penned the track Stay With Me following their split and later vowed never to ‘fall in love again with someone who doesn’t love me back’.

Meanwhile, Kesha’s appearance at the fashion show comes amid her epic musical comeback, which has already seen her secure some milestone achievements.

Her single Holiday Road, a cover of the original 1983 hit by Lindsey Buckingham, brought her onto Billboard’s worldwide rankings for the first time.

She scored her first number one hit on the Billboard chart in January despite having spent years as one of the biggest pop stars in the world.

The singer also recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of her debut album Animal.

She posted a throwback video as a nod to her breakthrough LP that launched her music career.

In her post, she reflected on the making of the 2010 LP that featured tracks such as Your Love Is My Drug, TiK ToK, Blah Blah Blah and Party at a Rich Dude’s House.

She also credited her mom Pebe Sebert — a Nashville songwriter known for co-writing the 1980 Dolly Parton track, Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You — for teaching her the ‘art of songwriting.’

‘I spent my whole life learning the art of songwriting from my mom, an iconic songwriter herself,’ she began.

The couple (pictured in 2023) have been dating since 2022 after meeting when Christian collaborated with Sam on the costumes for their music video, I’m Not Here to Make Friends 

‘So when Animal came out, it was a culmination of the sounds of growing up, the sounds of falling in love, heartbreak, the sounds of coming of age,’ she continued. 

‘And I had no idea what these songs would open up for me and what kind of life I would be creating for myself just by putting these songs out in the world’, Kesha wrote. 

‘I’m so happy I did, and so happy you’ve connected to it the way that you have, and continue to do so,’ she added, noting that her hit single TiK ToK had its biggest streaming day ever on Spotify last week following her set on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

‘Just goes to show that we all go through these same pivotal feelings and emotions growing up,’ she wrote.

‘I’m so happy to have grown up with all of you. Happy anniversary Animal. I had no idea you were that b****. But turns out you totally are.’
