A Deal Or No Deal contestant broke down in tears after losing out on the biggest prize possible during Thursday’s instalment of the ITV show.
A player called Wendy took to the stage to see if she could get her hands on any of the huge cash prizes.
Things didn’t start off well for Wendy as the first box that she opened was £75,000 – the second highest on the show.
Towards the end of the episode, Wendy had 1p, 50p and £500, as well as £2,000, £3,000 and £50,000 still up for grabs.
She managed to get £2,000, 50p and £500 out of the way, meaning that her box would either have the dreaded 1p or the huge prize.
Host Stephen Mulhern told Wendy that the banker wanted her to leave with £6,170.
A Deal Or No Deal contestant got very emotional after losing out on the biggest ever prize on Thursday’s instalment of the ITV show
The contestant Wendy couldn’t believe that she had £50,000 in her box after taking the banker’s offer
Her son told her: ‘If there’s a doubt, six grand is a hell of a lot of money.’
Wendy broke down in tears and decided to take the deal and ran over to her son Alex for a hug.
But Stephen wanted to find out what was behind all the remaining boxes.
He said: ‘Yesterday you had the £50,000, I am hoping with everything in my body that you don’t have it today.’
Wendy replied: ‘So am I!’
£500 and £3,000 were later revealed as the other contestants opened their boxes.
The banker then called and Stephen explained that he was happy she didn’t take it any further because his offer would have been £14,345.
The third remaining box had 50p in it, meaning that it was between Wendy having 1p or £50,000.
The banker called again saying £27,820 would have been his next offer.

As Stephen opened her box, he said: ‘Let’s hope that happiness continues when I reveal the 1p…’
But unfortunately it was £50,000.
The studio went silent and everyone shared how gutted they were for her.
Those watching at home felt exactly the same and took to social media with their commiserations.
One wrote on X: ‘Wendy is an absolutely lovely lady #DealOrNoDeal genuinely decent and so pleased for her win! 6 grand is a fair amount. Well done Wendy.’
Another added: Okay I understand why Wendy is always crying now… A shame she only went away with £6,100. Dealt one round too early.’
A third chimed in: ‘Damn it! So wanted her to win big, but £6k will get them a holiday together of some sort at least.
‘I hope in time she finds happiness #DealOrNoDeal.’
It comes after a Deal Or No Deal winner and record breaker confirmed that she still hasn’t received her winnings from the show.
Nay Nay from Croydon, London, won £75,000 when she took part in the programme.
The episode aired on Monday, but has admitted that the winnings will be put her bank account next month.
She plans on using the cash as part of a deposit, a church donation and treating her grandma to a spa day.
Deal Or No Deal airs weekdays on ITV1 from 4pm and is available to stream on ITVX
