Ben Affleck spent some quality time with son Samuel when they cheered on the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.

The 52-year-old actor and filmmaker — who stars in a hilarious Super Bowl ad with his brother Casey Affleck and Succession’s Jeremy Strong — looked attentive as he and Samuel, 12, chatted during the game between the Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.

Ben looked casual but cool in a cozy wintry ensemble featuring a gray ribbed turtleneck sweater.

He paired it with slim tan khakis, and he supported the lakers by wearing purple crew socks with his white sneakers.

The Oscar winner topped his outfit off with a tasteful gray cashmere coat with patch pockets that he wore with the collar popped up.

Samuel also made it clear he was cheering on the home team by wearing a LeBron James jersey over a black hoodie and matching pants, along with white-accented black Nikes.

The A-lister shares Samuel with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The two also have two older children who sat out the game: Violet, 19, and Fin, 16.

Ben has been focusing on his family and his acting and directing work as he moves on while his divorce from his second wife Jennifer Lopez proceeds.

He and his son both looked as if they were having a great time during the game, and they could be seen chatting animatedly with each other.

It appeared to be a relaxing change of pace for Ben after he had to deal with a major shakeup on an upcoming project.

Affleck had been set to collaborate again with his best friend Matt Damon on an upcoming thriller for Netflix, тιтled Animals, which he would direct while Damon played the lead role.

But the film was thrown into chaos after Matt had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts arising from his role in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey.

Damon, who has previously appeared in Nolan’s blockbuster films Oppenheimer and Interstellar, hasn’t shared which character he’ll be playing in the adaptation of the timeless Greek epic.

But without his leading man, Ben had to come up with a quick fix lest the project fall apart, so he will now be pulling double duty as director and leading man.

The day before, it was reported that his film Animals got a shakeup after his leading man, his best friend Matt Damon, had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey

It was reported Wednesday that Affleck will now both direct and star in the film, and X-Files star Gillian Anderson was reported to have joined the cast

After ᴅᴇᴀᴅline reported that Affleck would be directing and starring in the film, it was also reported that X-Files star Gillian Anderson had joined the cast.

Ben looked stressed earlier on Thursday, a day after the shakeup was reported, when he was spotted smoking a cigarette in his car. 

Although directing himself adds new challenges to the streaming film, it’s nothing new for the filmmaker, who won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay with his co-writer Matt earlier in their careers for Good Will Hunting. 

He previously appeared both behind and in front of the camera in 2010’s crime thriller The Town, his 2012 Best Picture winner Argo, the underperforming gangster film Live By Night and the sports comedy Air, which Damon led. 

Ben also wrote and directed the acclaimed crime thriller Gone Baby Gone, which his brother Casey starred in, and he co-wrote The Last Duel with Matt and Nicole Holofcener, with both men starring in the film for director Ridley Scott.

Fans of Ben and Matt shouldn’t despair, as they’ll still get to see them working together soon, this time sharing the screen.

The acting buddies will be appearing in Joe Carnahan’s crime thriller RIP, which is already in post-production and is expected to debut on Netflix sometime in the autumn of this year.
