During his marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West made headlines for berating his wife’s fashion choices for being too racy.

So it’s no surprise that fans have clocked the rapper’s view on nudity has made a dramatic U-turn in recent years, with the hitmaker stealing the spotlight at Sunday’s Grammy Awards with his wife Bianca Censori’s naked stunt.

Fans have taken to social media to slam the musician after a 2019 clip resurfaced that showed Kanye criticising Kim’s decision to wear a racy ɴuᴅᴇ Thierry Mugler corset to the Met Gala.

Users have noted that it’s a stark contrast to Kanye’s treatment of his current spouse, with their red carpet stunt implying he’s more than happy for his current wife Bianca to strip off for the cameras.

Kanye has been blasted over the treatment of his wife Bianca’s wardrobe choice, following speculation that she is being controlled by him. 

A close friend of the couple furiously slammed the speculation, telling DailyMail.com that Bianca is a ‘willing participant’ who was empowered by her husband to make a statement about ‘simplicity and provocation’.

A resurfaced clip of Kanye West has sparked accusations of double standards from fans, after it showed the rapper berating his then-wife Kim Kardashian for her racy Met Gala look 

It’s a view in stark contrast to the stunt he and his wife Bianca Censori pulled on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, which saw the actress strip naked 

Footage from season 17 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians showed Kanye shaming Kim for dressing ‘too Sєxy’ ahead of her Met Gala appearance. 

After spending eight months perfecting her Thierry Mugler look for the event, the reality star was left ‘anxiety’ ridden when her husband criticized her appearance at the last minute.

In the episode, which aired in 2019, West made it clear he wasn’t a fan of his then-wife’s custom-made, ɴuᴅᴇ-colored corset, designed to look like as though she was dripping wet. 

As he took in the look, the rapper frowned at the style of her dress as he declared it didn’t match with his personal evolution from being a single guy to a married man.

‘I just made this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife,’ he mused. 

‘Like, ”Oh, my girl needs to be like the other girls, showing her body off”.’

‘I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved, and the father of now, what—about to be four kids?.’

At the time, Kanye and Kim were just days away from becoming parents to their fourth child Psalm, who they welcomed via a surrogate.

In a 2019 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kanye made it clear he wasn’t a fan of the Thierry Mugler corset Kim was planning to wear to the Met Gala

Regardless of Kanye’s view, Kim went onto wear the revealing wet-look dress to the Met Gala. She and Kanye divorced in 2022  

‘A corset is like a form of underwear,’ Kanye continued. ‘It’s H๏τ. It’s like, it’s H๏τ for who, though?’

‘So the night before the Met, you’re gonna come in here and say that you’re not into a corset bust?’ Kim asked. ‘I’m getting really bad anxiety. What are you talking about?’

‘I don’t need any more negative energy for you to now say that you’re not into me in a тιԍнт dress,’ she pointed out.

‘You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too Sєxy,’ Kanye said.

‘You built me up to be this Sєxy person and confidence and all this stuff,’ Kim adroitly pointed out. 

‘And just because you’re on a journey and you’re on a transformation doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you.’ 

This prompted West to storm off after saying: ‘All right, cool.’

‘That’s absolutely ridiculous,’ Kim muttered.

After the clip re-emerged online, some fans took to social media to point out Kanye’s double standards.

Posts included: ‘Well this didn’t age well; But then he’s ok with Bianca Censori’s Grammy fit.’

‘Kanye West told Kim Kardashian that the Sєxy dress she wore to the met gala “hurt his soul” and she had way more covered than this,’ a third X user tweeted. ‘That tells you how he feels about his new wife—who is NOT the mother of any of his children.’

After the clip re-emerged online, some fans took to social media to point out Kanye’s double standards

A fourth wrote: ‘Kanye is weird and I need y’all to stop defending his behavior… he’s a hypocrite.’ 

In a similar tweet, another critic wrote: ‘Kanye is such a hypocrite cuz he used to shame Kim K for waaaaay less talking about how she’s not a good example for their kids.’

Kanye’s opinion about how his wife should dress drastically changed after finalizing his high-profile divorce from Kim in 2022. 

Since walking down the aisle with Bianca, the rapper has encouraged his wife to wear a number of very racy looks, which have caused a stir online. 

Most recently, the duo shocked the world after she bared it all in a sheer ɴuᴅᴇ mesh dress worn without underwear at the Grammy Awards.

But while Kanye was accused of ‘controlling’ his spouse and her wardrobe choices, an insider has told  DailyMail.com that he creates the outfits with his Yeezy designers, Bianca included, and declared an arrest for indecent exposure would have strengthened the couple’s message.

‘Bianca is not being forced at all,’ they said. ‘She is a willing participant in this, and she is not controlled by Kanye. They build these looks together, sharing ideas and vision against the establishment of fashion and culture.

‘Ye is empowering Bianca, and Bianca loves this. They are doing this together, so any suggestion that they are not in on this together is false.’

The stunt is said to have lost Kanye a $20million deal to play in Japan, according to sources in Tokyo.

Kanye had signed up to do two shows at the Tokyo Dome in May, but following the naked stunt on the red carpet with his wife, his investors have taken fright.

A source said: ‘Kanye is just ****ing up every opportunity that comes to him. The stunt was creepy beyond belief and has been greeted with horror in Japan.’

He added: ‘Japan is having a cultural awakening about women’s rights and the MeToo movement is really strong here. What he did is being seen as an act of coercive control which is utterly unacceptable. He has completely culturally misjudged Japan.’
