Fans were stunned by the way Scarlett Johansson looked in the first trailer for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

Many have said on social media that the actress, 40, looks like another famous thespian: Florence Pugh.

The similarities are obvious as both have almond eyes and strong jawlines.

While playing Zora Bennett, Scarlett wore her hair back and had on what looked like military attire with an army green tank top and heavy backpack as she held a high-powered gun.

‘Eh, is that Florence or Scarlett?’ asked one fan on X while another added, ‘Though it was FloPu but not it’s ScarJo!’

Pugh is an English actress known for her roles in 2014’s The Falling, 2019’s Midsommar, 2021’s Black Widow (which starred Scarlett) and 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling.

The preview begins with the two-time Oscar nominee meeting with Bailey, who is a paleontologist.

She and Friend reveal their plans to embark on a secret mission that will result in a ‘medical breakthrough that could save countess lives.’ 

Friend explains to Bailey that the materials they need come from the largest dinosaurs on the planet. 

‘Fortunately for us, all these species exist in one isolated place,’ he said. ‘Can you be ready tomorrow?’

While sensing Bailey’s hesitation, Johansson tells him: ‘I can guarantee your safety… more or less.’ 

‘More or less?’ he fires back, before footage pans to them embarking on their dangerous voyage. 

While speaking of her team, Johansson confidently declares that they are the ‘best at moving things and people in and out of places they shouldn’t be.’ 

Upon joining the duo, Mahershala Ali talks about avoiding government patrol, before noting that there isn’t much there anymore. 

When Bailey asks him why not, Ali laughed and said: ‘No one’s dumb enough to go where we’re going.’

‘This island was the research facility for the original Jurᴀssic Park,’ Johansson explains. 

It is later revealed that the dinosaurs left on this island were the ones deemed ‘too dangerous for the original park.’

Their mission takes them on an exhausting journey that includes rappelling down a mountain and facing off with dinosaurs, including raptors. 

By the end of the trailer, Bailey predicts ‘survival is a long sH๏τ.’

The new science fiction action film, which comes on the heels of Jurᴀssic World Dominion (2022), is the seventh film in the Jurᴀssic Park franchise and stars a whole new ensemble cast that’s being led by Johansson. 

Along with Johansson, Friend, Ali, and Bailey, the cast includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein. 

Per a press release, the premise of the story is: ‘Five years post-Jurᴀssic World Dominion, an expedition braves isolated equatorial regions to extract DNA from three mᴀssive prehistoric creatures for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.’ 

As a covert operations expert, Johansson’s character is ‘contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most mᴀssive dinosaurs,’ according to Universal Pictures.

Gareth Edwards is serving as the director, and is working from a screenplay from David Koepp, who co-wrote the first two original films Jurᴀssic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurᴀssic Park (1997).

In June, Johansson told ComicBook.com that ‘script is so incredible’ and gushed how David Koepp wrote it.   

‘He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He’s so pᴀssionate about it, which is so awesome,’ she raved.

‘I’m such an enormous fan of the franchise and huge nerd for it. I’m just like, I can’t even, I’m pinching myself,” Johansson added. ‘I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years.’ 

Steven Spielberg is back as executive producer on the project, which is a joint-venture production between Amblin Entertainment and Universal. 

Principal pH๏τography began in mid-June in Thailand and went on for about a month until the production moved to Kalkara in the island country of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea, located in Southern Europe for another month.

From there, the shoot went to Sky Studios Elstree in London, England in August for another round before moving on in late September to New York City for these latest scenes being sH๏τ.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is scheduled to hit theaters in the U.S. on July 2, 2025.
