Bristol Palin has given fans an update on her alarming facial paralysis.

The reality TV star took to her Insta Stories to share a new pH๏τo for her followers where she hinted she is coping with her condition.

The Texas-based realtor was standing in the foyer of her home as she took a mirror selfie. Palin had on a black hoodie and black leggings. Her nails were painted black.

Her face was not that easy to see as she had on oversized sunglᴀsses and was seen in semi-profile.

‘If I just keep my mouth shut I look pretty normal, lol maybe it’s a sign,’ joked the star in copy pasted over her image.

In a video shared to her Instagram Stories days earlier, the star, who is the daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, 60, explained she had been dealing with the condition, which affected right side of her face for 11 days.

‘I’ve seen so much speculation about what this is caused by,’ she said in the clip made while sitting in her car wearing a gray jacket over a sage green hoodie.

‘So many people are trying to blame the Covid vaccine,’ the 34-year-old said. ‘I never had the Covid vaccine,’ perhaps in support of her mother, who was vehemently against it during the pandemic. 

She also dismissed suggestions it was caused by Botox or lip fillers.

‘I haven’t had filler in years. I had lip filler years ago,’ the former Dancing with the Stars contestant admitted, as she pointed to her mouth.

‘I haven’t done that in a long time too, so, I don’t think it’s caused by those.’

She then went to on to explain that ‘Bell’s Palsy can be set off by stress. I’m stressed, I probably don’t sleep that great,  so it’s definitely eye opening for that aspect, but it’s super simple, that’s likely what it’s caused by.’

Palin, who was thrown into the spotlight as pregnant teen when her mother was named as the running for for Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

She went on to headline her own reality show in 2014, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, starring her and her son, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston. 

Palin later joined the reality show Teen Mom OG in 2018 for a season, shortly after divorcing former Marine Dakota Meyer.

The two wed in  2016 and share Sailor, nine and Atlee, seven. 

In August 2024, the single mom revealed her then 15-year-old son would be moving to Alaska to live with his father.  

Palin seemed to have derived some comfort Friday from a trip to the DMV earlier in the day. ‘It’s a weird thing. It happens to quite a few people, so I met people at the DMV saying they’ve had it before.’

Palin, a Texas-based realtor,  explained to her follower Bell’s palsy is caused by stress, and would be turning to acupuncture and lymphatic mᴀssage for help. The condition affects an estimated 40,000 Americans every year, according to the NIH

The single mother of three explained, ‘ I’m stressed, I probably don’t sleep that great, so it’s definitely eye opening for that aspect, but it’s super simple, that’s likely what  it’s [Bell’s palsy] caused by’

Palin revealed on Wednesday in another Instagram Story clip that she had been struggling with the condition which at one time, caused her to lose all sensation and movement in the entire left side of her face over the next two hours.

Doctors gave her a CT scan and prescribed steroids.  

The Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far author said she was hopeful the condition would clear up in a couple of weeks and she was turning to alternative treatments for help. ‘I have more acupuncture next week, I’m going to try a lymphatic mᴀssage,’ she said.

Bell’s palsy affects some 40,000 Americans a year, according to the National Insтιтutes of Health, and facial therapy, along with osteopathic manipulative treatment and corticosteroids are among the suggested treatments.
