Kanye West has revealed he believes he was an ‘Emperor King’ in a past life as he explained why he loves being in Japan so much. 

The American rapper, 37, often spends time in Japan alongside his wife Bianca Censori, and now he has explained just why he loves visiting the country. 

Speaking on the latest episode of Justin Laboy’s podcast The Download, Kanye explained: ‘I love the temples. I love how people are with you, it’s just really respectful. 

‘And my wife said that in a past life I was a king, I was an emperor out here.’

And as his eldest daughter North West begins to pursue a career in the music industry, the father of four expressed his wishes for her to follow in his footsteps as the ‘hands down greatest’. 

The star explained: ‘I always liked the idea of having a school and both my mum and my dad were professional teachers so that makes me a natural teacher in my blood.

‘I’m just thinking about how her album is going to be insane and how everything that I learned that I could have it flow through her. 

‘[I want] her to become the greatest, the next frontier because we’re like the Kings in Africa or something where it’s just pᴀssed down.

‘Like I’m the hands down greatest so she going to be the hands down greatest.’

Last month North made a surprise feature on FKA Twigs’ third studio album, EUSєxUA as she fluently rapped in Japanese on the track тιтled, Childlike Things.

The track has already earned North a top 10 hit on a Billboard songs chart this week   

Meanwhile in August, she stunned listeners when she also sang in Japanese on his Vultures 2 album. 

She also previously announced her plans to release a debut album called Elementary School Dropout, and pays tribute to Kanye’s 2004 LP, The College Dropout.

Meanwhile Kanye has lost a $20 million deal to play in Japan as a result of his controversial stunt at the Grammys.

The star’s wife Bianca Censori sparked worldwide outrage after she wore an ‘invisible dress’ over her naked body at the Grammys red carpet on Sunday.

Kanye had signed up to do two shows at the Tokyo Dome in May, but following the naked stunt his investors have taken fright.

A source said: ‘Kanye is just ****ing up every opportunity that comes to him. The stunt was creepy beyond belief and has been greeted with horror in Japan.’

He added: ‘Japan is having a cultural awakening about women’s rights and the MeToo movement is really strong here. What he did is being seen as an act of coercive control which is utterly unacceptable. He has completely culturally misjudged Japan.’

This is unfortunate as he has been living in a H๏τel in Tokyo for most of the last year.

 A source said: ‘The investors in Japan who are backing the concerts are extremely upset by this. It is highly likely that they will pull the funding for the shows.

‘He has greatly misjudged the tolerance of the Japanese people towards these activities. He’s just not welcome any more. 

‘This will be a big blow for him because he has been living in Japan for around a year now, almost full time, and I guess he did not see this coming.’
