‘My 12-year-old could have guessed that!’ The 1% Club fans slam final question for being ‘the easiest ever’ – can YOU answer it?

It’s a show famously known for baffling viewers with its head-scratching questions.

But viewers who tuned into Saturday’s edition of The 1% Club were quick to slam the show’s final question as ‘the easiest ever,’ after a string of contestants got it wrong, leaving them empty-handed.

The ITV show sees 100 hopefuls answer questions that were put to the public, with the percentage who got it right determining its difficulty in each round.

Aptly the final question is one that just 1% of the public were able to answer, and this week, five contestants made it to that fateful moment.

The players were faced with a choice – take home a share of £10,000 (£2,000 each), or answer the final question for the chance to win a prize pot of £96,000.

Only one player decided to take their share, Christopher, who said he felt his luck might run out, while the other four played on.

But only one contestant chose to answer the question, and got it wrong, meaning no one walked away with any cash.

The question was: ‘The words below share a specific pattern. Why could VOTING also be part of the group?’, and the words listed were ‘Bandleader, Nickelodeo and Silverback.’

It was then revealed that the three words all contained names of metals: Lead, Nickel, Silver and Tin, and viewers were to quick to slam the ‘easy question’ for featuring in the final round.

Posts on X included: ‘That seemed a pretty easy 1% Question to me?!’

‘That was the easiest 1% question I can remember. Thought it must be wrong as it couldn’t be that easy. Amazed not one of them had a clue;’

‘Got this within five seconds was far too easy with silver and nickel as the start of the words and tin being the only other word in voting;’

‘My 12-year-old got this. Metals in the words;’

Last wee, the 1% Club’s host Lee Mack was left shocked after a contestant revealed the ‘heartbreaking’ reason she ended up on the show.

The comedian returned to front the latest series of the hit game show but one participant called Alice revealed she had no idea what she was doing there.

She said: ‘I don’t actually know what I’m doing here, I thought this was a a scam and my boyfriend was going to propose.’

Lee replied: ‘That’s heartbreaking!’

Alice admitted that she had applied for the show herself, but never thought she stood a chance and believed that the confirmation email was all part of a ruse.

Alice continued: ‘I applied myself, but I didn’t ever think I was gonna make the show.

‘When I got the email, I thought that was all part of the scam and he’d set it up really well.’

‘There is still part of me that thinks he might come out halfway through.’

Lee bluntly replied: ‘I don’t wanna shatter your dreams, but he’s not!’

The ITV game show features a studio audience who all face ‘logic and common sense’-style questions in a bid to win up to £100,000.

All questions have been put to members of the public beforehand, and the percentage of those who answered correctly goes down at each stage.

The 1% Club continues on Saturday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
