The Traitors winner Jake Brown breaks his silence amid claims he was ‘confronted by his wife after secretly meeting up with female colleague’

The Traitors winner Jake Brown has broken his silence to confirm that all is well in his relationship, after it was reported he was confronted by his wife Shannon following secret meetings with a female colleague, just two months into their marriage.

The project manager, 28, took home the impressive £94,600 prize money with fellow faithful Leanne Quigley in the final of the BBC show, which aired last month.

It was reported by The Sun On Sunday that Jake and his wife Shannon endured a rocky patch when he grew close to a female colleague in November 2023.

However, Jake took to social media on Saturday to reveal his marriage is stronger than ever, as he and Shannon posed for a loved-up snap together.

Jake’s marital drama with Shannon began when he met the colleague at an office party a few months after he married his wife, and continued for five months with the pals comforting each other while they had issues at home.

A source told the publication: ‘They were going through a rocky patch. He was so apologetic. She wasn’t happy, she was upset and confronted Jake. She told him it had to stop.

‘Jake had become close to this woman and they were hanging out. They confided in each other.

‘They’d meet up and lean on each other for comfort and support. But the longer it went on, Shannon grew suspicious of the friendship.’

The publication also claims that Shannon messaged Jake’s colleague and contacted her boyfriend, before meeting up with him to explain her worries over a coffee.

However, things were reportedly resolved when Jake reᴀssured his wife that they were just friends, before apologising and called off the friendship out of respect for her.

A spokesperson for Jake told MailOnline: ‘Jake’s marriage is the most important thing to him. He and Shannon have been together ten years and are very happy.’

Shannon and Jake have been together since 2015 and tied the knot in September 2023 at the Daffodil H๏τel & Spa in Grasmere.

It comes after Traitors winners Leanne and Jake revealed they needed support from a therapist after having to keep their time on the BBC show secret for months.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, they shared how they managed to keep their time on The Traitors secret for months, having first filmed the show in the spring.

A source told the publication: 'They were going through a rocky patch. He was so apologetic. She wasn't happy, she was upset and confronted Jake'

Jake said: ‘It was filmed back in the springtime so it’s been a long time to keep it quiet. It’s been really difficult.

‘I mean, I was paranoid in my head because before the show even came on, I kept thinking people were looking at me, but obviously at that point no one knew who I was.’

Jake added that for the first few weeks he even kept his time on the show a secret from his wife Shannon, but eventually decided to confide in her.

Leanne, who hid her career in the British Army from her fellow players, said she also felt ‘overwhelmed’ by the way the series ended.

Jake also praised the show’s welfare support team for regularly checking in on them throughout the process.

The show’s list both a chartered psychologist, Victoria Plant, and a psycH๏τherapist, Tanya Taylor-Wright, while the BBC also employs a health and safety company called the RT Group, formerly Remote Trauma.

He added: ‘The welfare team and the production have been amazing. They’ve been looking after us and checking in instantly.

‘They’re just really checking in, just making sure we’re alright and offering all the support we need.

‘There’s not one thing that I’ve been unsure about. It’s been like a military operation, like they’ve constantly been checking in.

‘It’s taught me how resilient I am. I always thought I was like a cool, calm, collected person, but it’s really taught me I actually am more resilient than I thought.’

Francesca Rowan-Plowden, Leanne, Alexander Dragonetti, Jake and Charlotte Berman were the five remaining contestants going into the last hurdle.

But the veteran and project manager were the ones who managed to outsmart the Traitors and emerge victorious by remaining in the show until the end of the unforgettable third series.

In the most fiery roundtable yet, the Faithfuls banished the final Traitor of the series.

But in yet another new twist ‘Welsh’ business director Charlotte didn’t reveal her status as she left the castle.

It left the four remaining players considering whether there could be a final villain, with suspicions landing on Alexander in particular, who was the next to be banished.

But the game didn’t end there as the final three also all voted to banish again in an excruciating round of endgame.

While Frankie opted to banish Jake, Leanne and Jake then turned on Frankie as she became the final player to leave the castle, leaving Leanne and Jake victorious.
