‘I wanted to create something that resonated differently, with a high level of quality that spoke to a new generation of tequila consumers,’ she said.
The model also expressed that she intended for 818 Tequila to set a new standard for female-owned liquor companies.
‘I felt that the market was historically male-dominated — if you look at labels and marketing campaigns from other brands in years past, there are a lot of similarities. I wanted to craft something that could appeal to everyone,’ she stated.
Since launching her company, it has become one of the fastest-growing brands in the compeтιтive tequila market.

The tequila tycoon also told BAZAAR Australia/New Zealand that the inspiration behind the brand’s name was that it is ‘the area code of Calabasas.’
‘The 818 area code may be home to me, but the earth is home to all of us, and I wanted a name and brand that could speak to that,’ she said.
While creating the brand, she wanted to focus on operating as sustainably as possible.
‘I think people in my generation have grown up with this sense of unease and frustration seeing what’s happening to our planet, and a lot of us share this desire to step in and make a change in our own way,’ Jenner said. ‘From the beginning at 818, I wanted that to be a priority.’
As for what comes to her mind when she thinks of tequila, the star said: ‘That’s an easy one: the evenings I’ve spent with my friends, sipping 818 and talking about everything in the world. Great tequila can bring people together in such amazing ways.’
