Megan McKenna has announced she is taking a break from social media after revealing a recent health diagnosis.

The former TOWIE star, 32, and her footballer fiancé Oliver Burke welcomed their baby son, Landon, in October 2024.

In a new health update on Saturday, she shared on Instagram that she has developed masтιтis, which has now turned into an abscess. 

She wrote: ‘Boob update. I have masтιтis but its gone pᴀssed that stage and has turned into an abscess.

‘I’ve been so ill and out of bed the past two days. They tried to drain it today but it didn’t work so going back Monday to try and drain again.

‘For now I’m on strong antibiotics.’

Announcing her temporary break from social media, Megan added: ‘Let’s hope it clears.

‘Will be off socials for a few days as I’m resting and trying to get better. So annoying because I really felt like I was getting my mojo back with mum life and cooking and general plans.

‘What can you do ey, Love you all xx.’

It comes after Megan proudly showed off her postpartum figure as she gave an honest update on Instagram.

The singer was seen candidly feeding baby Landon while lying in bed and holding a takeaway coffee cup.

The former reality star ‘proudly’ revealed she is ‘out the other end of the sore nipples’ and admitted breastfeeding is not for the weak.

Megan continued to keep her followers up-to-date as she navigates motherhood and gave an insight into breastfeeding journey

She wrote: ‘What our Sundays look like now. Feeding, eating cake & trying to sleep when I can. 3 weeks of loving you Landon.

‘Last video is what I look like majority of the time haha. Nipple cream, messy hair and maternity pants. I can proudly say I’m out the other end of the sore nipples, I fed through the cracks. Wow it’s not for the weak.

‘But now it’s so much easier and will be so much better for when I’m travelling next year.. I have food on tap 24.7 with no bags or bottles

‘Next mission to complete is getting this routine in place. I’ve been trying to keep the feeds longer and a couple hours apart.

‘Feeding on demand was completely killing me off and I started to lose track on everything.’

She continued: ‘Also I don’t even think he was crying for food it was more for comfort! I noticed he was hanging onto my boob like a dummy most of the time and not actually feeding. So this way it’s working way better!

‘My belly is healing nicely, just feel very run down with lack of sleep. Naps are my savour right now. He loves the black and white cards, I put them in his crib in the morning, his little eyes taking it all in is the best feeling in the world.

It comes after Megan gushed that she has had ‘the best week of her life’ as she shared heartwarming new pH๏τos of her son.

She shared a snap of her cradling her newborn in hospital with Oliver by her side, after her C-section and another breastfeeding him for the first time.

Other sweet pH๏τos showed Landon wrapped up in a white baby grow while peacefully sleeping, but showing off her sense of humour, Megan also included a sH๏τ of her swollen ankles.

In the accompanying caption, she joked: ‘The best week of my life. Ps rip my ankles’.

Megan welcomed Landon via C-section as she shared raw videos when she gave birth in Germany, and in the post announcing his birth, she wrote that he had been born at 8.33am on October 7.

In September, Megan left the UK and moved to Germany to be with her footballer fiancé Olly, making the decision to give birth over there.

The Scotsman plays as a right winger or forward for the German football team, Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.

In a previous Instagram video, Megan announced: ‘Guess what! I’m moving to Germany. I know I did some stories yesterday about packing.

‘And I think I few of you thought I was going into labour but no lets hope I don’t go into labour because I am now giving birth in Germany.

‘I know a few of you guys have been like ‘Where’s Olly?’ Olly is in Germany and all our stuff has been in storage for a couple of months.

‘A bit crazy that I’m moving countries. I’m actually excited, like it’s obviously going to be a big change.’

Megan revealed that they had to ‘move hospitals very last minute’ and it was ‘crazy’ and ‘all a bit of a rush’.

The original plan was for Olly to fly back in time for her due date. However Megan was worried that her partner would miss the birth of their baby.
