Sam Thompson was left terrified when comedian Michael McIntyre burst into his home for a late-night prank.
The reality star, 32, was reportedly so shocked by the late night drop in, he mistook it for a burglary and grabbed a knife in panic.
The incident happened during the filming of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show for its Midnight Gameshow segment, where celebrities are woken up unexpectedly.
I’m A Celeb winner Sam was with his then-girlfriend Zara McDermott when he picked up the knife in panic, however the episode, which aired on January 18, with the BBC did not air it, instead showing Sam in bed while Zara answered the door.
A source told The Sun: ‘A family member was in on the joke and pᴀssed house keys to production. But when crew arrived they found the bedroom locked.
‘Sam then came out with a knife. It was shocking. He and Zara had heard a commotion and mistook it for burglars.’

They added that Sam had picked up the small knife from an earlier meal, as he doesn’t usually keep blades in his bedroom.
Host Michael, 48, later hinted at the drama on The One Show, recalling that he could hear Sam and Zara ‘freaking out’ behind their locked bedroom door.
He said: ‘So I get all the way to the door and it’s locked. I can’t get in. Then I can hear them freaking out because they start to get a sense there’s people outside their bedroom.
‘They are totally freaking out.
‘And actually, it’s not in the show and I probably shouldn’t be saying it but – you know, he had a weapon.’
He joked: ‘Yes, there was a weapon – I could have died that night on the Midnight Gameshow at the hands of Sam Thompson.’
Despite all the drama, Sam described the incident later in the hit Saturday night show as: ‘Best experience ever mate, the coolest thing ever.’

And while neither have publicly confirmed the break-up, the I’m A Celebrity star said he is glad his sister Louise, her partner Ryan Libbey and their son Leo, live so close.
Sam told The Mirror that he gets his ‘biggest comforts’ from going round to his sister’s house and despite it being ‘manic’ it gives him a ‘warm and cosy’ feelings while going through the ‘tough time’.
He said: ‘It’s amazing having Louise there and she’s an amazing mum. One of my biggest comforts, if I’m ever going through a hard time, is my neighbours next door.’
‘I live my life at a very fast pace and there’s a lot going on, so when I go to their place it’s just such a family unit and it’s a beautiful place to be. Louise is running after Leo, my nephew, and Ryan’s running after Louise – it’s all manic madness, but it’s so warm and cosy and lovely.’

Despite Sam living a very happy go get ’em life he admitted it isn’t always so cheery and that when he ‘struggles’ he finds going to therapy and ‘talking to people’ helps.

He continued: ‘Sometimes I’m a victim of people saying ‘Oh he never turns off’, of course I turn off but I’m just very lucky to do what I do.
‘I talk to people about struggling a lot actually. I go to therapy, I’ve been going to therapy for years, I do loads of stuff. For someone like me, it’s really better to talk about how I feel and I’ll never, I’ll never stop that.’
Meanwhile Zara appeared to take a swipe at Sam as she re-shared a cryptic post on TikTok on Monday.
Zara reposted a video which alluded that ‘not everyone has the same heart as her’ while questioning why someone ‘did what they did.’
The clip, which was originally posted by account @ewwieeee showed her staring out of the window on a train.
