Kailyn Lowry made a surprise appearance in the new trailer for Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, three years after she quit the Teen Mom franchise. 

The reality TV star, 32, made her unexpected return to the show in a clip posted to the show’s Instagram account on Thursday.

Kailyn — who recently shared graphic plastic surgery pH๏τos — appeared in a segment with her former castmates Catelynn Lowell, 32, Tyler Baltierra, 33, and Maci Bookout, 33. 

‘Hey!’ she greeted them, as a surprised Tyler asked, ‘What are you doing here?’ Kailyn playfully replied, ‘What are you doing here?’ 

The mom-of-seven — who shares her kids with four different dads — met up with the group to discuss the drama unfolding during filming. 

In the video Catelynn spoke to Kailyn about the ongoing challenges she and her husband Tyler have experienced with Brandon and Teresa Davis, who are the adoptive parents of their firstborn daughter, Carly, 15.

‘Have you heard from Brandon and Teresa at all?’ Tyler asks his wife, as the camera shows a glimpse of numerous text messages she sent, which appear to have gone unanswered.

‘I’m blocked,’ Catelynn replies.

Catelynn later says, ‘Teresa said she needs to have a very sincere apology,’ before adding, ‘I deserve a f*****g apology.’ 

Lowell and Baltierra — who parent daughters Novalee, 10, Vaeda, five, and Rya, three —  have publicly discussed their strained relationship with Brandon and Teresa.

Once part of Teen Mom and instrumental in Carly’s visits, Brandon and Teresa have since retreated from the spotlight and requested that Catelynn and Tyler cease contact with Carly. 

‘They definitely have 100 percent closed the adoption,’ Catelynn shared in a recent interview with E! News.

‘I’m still blocked [on social media] and they recently told me to quit sending gifts [to Carly] because it was inappropriate and uncalled for, just a whole bunch of things.’ 

Fans were happy to see Kailyn return for the cameo.

‘Omffgggg kail is back??!!’ another asked. 

Catelynn, Tyler, Kailyn and Maci were all featured on the first season of 16 and Pregnant, which aired June 11, 2009 on MTV. 

The reality TV series documented the lives of pregnant teenagers in high school as they navigated the challenges of unplanned pregnancies.

Kailyn shares her eldest, son Isaac Elliot Rivera, 14, with her ex JO Rivera. She also shares son Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, 11, with her ex Javi Marroquin.

Her sons Lux Russell Lowry, seven, and Creed Romello Lowry-Lopez, four, are shared with her ex Chris Lopez. She welcomed Rio Elijah Lowry-Scott, two, as well as one-year-old twins Verse and Valley with her current fiancé Elijah Scott.

The franchise then released Teen Mom, which picked up where 16 and Pregnant left off, and continued to follow their lives and their journey of parenthood, as well as other spin-offs including Teen Mom OG, Teen Mom 2, and Teen Mom: Young + Pregnant. 

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter premiered in September 2022 and follows the lives of castmates from a number of different spin-offs. 

Lowry is the only member of the Teen Mom 2 cast to star in all ten seasons of the MTV reality series. 

Kailyn left Teen Mom 2 in 2022, after more than a decade on air, and has since built a podcasting career. 

‘I think I need to move on. I think I need to do my own thing. I think this needs to be my farewell. I think I’m ready,’ she said at a reunion taping with with co-hosts Dr. Drew Pinsky and Nessa Diab.

The latest season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter premiered on MTV on January 30, with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 8pm. 

Earlier this month Kailyn gave fans an unfiltered look at her recovery following three recent plastic surgeries.

She revealed that she had a breast reduction, tummy tuck, and liposuction over the New Year.

But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing, as she admitted to having some tearful regrets.

Kailyn posted graphic pH๏τos of the aftermath, showing herself hooked up to tubes coming out of her nose and stomach, with visible blood.

In her post, Kailyn also mentioned that she’s been taking extra protein to help with her recovery.

The post follows a tearful Instagram share in which Kailyn expressed regret about the procedures, sharing earlier this month, ‘I pray that my kids never struggle with their body images enough to mutilate their bodies to be skinny.’
