Tom Selleck was seen celebrating his 80th birthday by indulging in a fancy dinner with his family and close friends in Thousand Oaks, California on Wednesday.

The Blue Bloods actor was joined by his wife Jillie Mack, 67, their daughter Hannah, 36, and other loved ones to grab a tasty meal at Tuscany il Ristorante. 

Earlier in the day, the star was notably spotted grabbing a lonely lunch while at a McDonald’s drive-thru during a solo outing. 

The group was seen exiting the restaurant after its closing hours and hugged while saying goodbye before parting ways. 

Selleck seemingly carried a gift box in his hand, and later sweetly held hands with his wife as the couple strolled to a parked car before heading to their next destination. 

The star was stylishly casual for the special evening, and sported a pair of classic denim jeans as well as a dark red ʙuттon up.

He layered the ensemble with a tan-colored blazer as well as a jacket and slipped into a pair of brown shoes. 

Tom’s wife – whom he tied the knot with in 1987 – opted for a striped dress and tan jacket to ring in her husband’s milestone birthday. 

The couple welcomed their daughter Hannah in 1988, and during his past marriage to Jacqueline Ray, Selleck adopted her son named Kevin. 

During an interview with People last year, Selleck opened up about his long-lasting marriage to Jillie and expressed that he adored their ‘friendship’ and his wife’s ‘sense of humor.’ 

The star has relocated to his ranch located in Ventura County with Jillie – and would visit the residence every two weeks while filming the CBS police drama, Blue Bloods. 

The dinner comes just hours after the Magnum, P.I. alum was seen going through a drive-thru at McDonalds and ate in his car while nibbling on the fast food. 

At one point, Selleck was seen flashing a smile as he placed his order and donned a black, zipped jacket for the daytime excursion. 

And as he officially turns one year older, Tom recently revealed to Parade whether he was ready to retire after Blue Bloods was cancelled after 14 seasons – with the last episode airing in December 2024.

‘I’m trying not to count. I stopped celebrating birthdays a while back. I intend to keep working,’ Selleck explained. 

Tom is also known for taking roles in projects such as Friends, Three Men And A Baby, Quigley Down Under and the Jessie Stone movies. 

‘I would love to do another comedy. The right kind of comedy. Friends made people laugh and cry at times. That’s the kind of comedy I enjoy doing. Three Men and a Baby had that, too.’

Selleck expressed his interest in reprising his character of Frank Reagan in a Blue Bloods spin-off, but an offer has yet to take place. 

‘I’m open to suggestions because I love Frank Reagan, but nobody’s really asked,’ the star shared to the outlet. 

‘I’m trying not to count. I stopped celebrating birthdays a while back. I intend to keep working,’ Selleck explained; seen in May 2024 in NYC

‘I don’t see him retiring and going off somewhere. If he goes off to a small town, I’d rather do more Jesse Stone movies.’ 

In regards to the sudden cancellation of Blue Bloods, Tom admitted to TV Insider that he had been ‘frustrated’ due to there being more of the story to tell. 

‘I’m kind of frustrated. During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful.’

He added, ‘In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6!’ 

‘My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go.’ 

‘I would love to do another comedy. The right kind of comedy. Friends made people laugh and cry at times. That’s the kind of comedy I enjoy doing. Three Men and a Baby had that, too,’ he said; seen with Courtney Love in Friends

Back in 2017, Tom garnered a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Crime TV Drama Actor.  

A source also opened up about Selleck’s plans after the end of the CBS show and told Closer Magazine, ‘He wants to relax on his ranch, walk around his property, spend time with his wife and family, and travel a bit.’ 

‘Tom and Jillie can just sit at home, cook, go for a long walk and be very content. He adores Jillie and trusts her to schedule activities or travel plans.’

‘He’s looking forward to having more free time to spend with her,’ the insider continued to the publication.
