Oprah revealed the ‘favorite’ new gift her A-list pals gave her for her 71st birthday, after previously being branded the ‘worst’ person to buy presents for.

The media mogul turned 71 on Wednesday, and marked the occasion with an Instagram post, sharing two pH๏τos of herself lounging on a couch inside her lavish home with a large book in her hands.

The item in question turned out to be a ‘book of love letter from friends’ collected and bound together for the former talk show host by her gal pal, former First Lady of California Maria Shriver, 69.

The тιтle on the book read, ‘To Oprah With Love.’ 

Despite being difficult to shop for, the billionaire was thrilled with the heartfelt gift, writing that it was a book she will ‘savor and cherish forever.’ 

In a lengthy caption celebrating her big day, the global icon reflected on her upbringing, the impact of her grandmother’s teachings, faith, and believing in possibilities.

‘So grateful to celebrate another trip around the sun for me—the 71st! It all started by two people, my father Vernon and mother Vernita,’ the caption read. 

‘My first 6 years of life, I was raised by my grandmother who gave me my life’s greatest gift. She taught me I was God’s child. “All things are possible,” she would tell me and I believed her.’

She went on to write that, ‘Those early years in rural Mississippi didn’t seem so miraculous at the time. Now I know, every breath, every choice defines the greater outcome. And I grew up loving trees and big skirts and books.’

‘I much later realized you don’t become what you want, not even your greatest desires. You become what you Believe,’ Oprah added.

‘That we get to be human and have a chance every day to grow better is a miracle. I never imagined seeing 71. So today I’m giving all praises to my miraculous time here on earth as God’s child.’

She then acknowledged the special gift from her friends. 

‘And feeling blessed by this wonderful book of love letters from friends created by my only other friend of 49 years @mariashriver. She collected all the letters and had them caligraphied and leather bound. My new favorite book to savor and cherish forever.’

Oprah wrapped up her birthday post writing, ‘Thank you all for your kind birthday words of affirmation today, I feel them all. It’s my love language.’

The actress posted a snap of them together to her Instagram Stories, writing, ‘Happy Birthday to the QUEEN. Love you so much @Oprah.’

Washington made the quip about buying a gift for the woman who has everything last December, just days before Christmas.

The two co-starred in the recent Netflix film The Six Triple Eight.

While appearing on the Late Night With Seth Meyers she shared how both Oprah and director Tyler Perry were difficult to shop for, stating that Perry ‘has everything.’

‘Do you want a new favorite thing?’ the actress said about trying to buy a gift for Oprah.

Perry directed both Winfrey and Washington in the drama The Six Triple Eight, which tells the true story of an all-Black-female regiment known as 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

The unit was the only predominantly Black unit to be sent overseas during World War II, tasked with delivering a mᴀssive backlog of mail to and from U.S. soldiers, roughly 17 million pieces of mail.
