Wynne Evans will return to the BBC on Monday evening with his weekly travel show, despite publicly confirming his departure from the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
The Go Compare star was caught on film by The Mail on Sunday making a vile Sєxual comment about one of the show’s female hosts, it emerged on Saturday, but his future on the tour has not been clarified at the time.
Evans has said he is “deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused”, as he announced he will be taking some time out from his BBC Radio Wales show and the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour to prioritise his wellbeing on Tuesday.
Despite the fiasco, Wynne will return to primetime TV on February 3 for All At Sea, the Welsh travel show he co-hosts with Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page.
An insider told The Mirror as the show aired this week that ‘the timing of this is deeply unfortunate…the comments were idiotic and have clearly overshadowed the first episode. What on earth was he thinking?’

Others demanded Wynne to ‘get off the telly’ in a furious rant on X amid the backlash surrounding an vile Sєxual remark.
Angry viewers wrote on X during his show: ‘Why are we being forced to endure Wynne Evans? Everyone hates the go compare ads but bbc seem determined to make him a thing. Whoever runs their old white man department needs a gentle chat’,
‘Just a thought BBC, but maybe this Wynne Evans #AllAtSea prime time claptrap could have been postponed for a while?’.
‘They’ve taken Wynne Evans off air for a joke, but this will be glossed over with likely no apology.’
The Welsh opera singer, who celebrated his 53rd birthday on Monday, was to have taken to the stage on Tuesday as part of the Strictly tour stop in Liverpool.
He said in a statement: ‘I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.
‘I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.
‘I Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

Professional dancer Katya Jones, who was partnered with Evans on Strictly, reposted the message and wrote: “Let’s show humanity and consideration.”
She added that she would miss Evans in the post to her Instagram stories.
The BBC has said it will not be commenting further.
His recent statement follows an apology he issued at the weekend for an “inappropriate and unacceptable” remark made during the tour launch earlier this month.
The Mail On Sunday reported that Evans, known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, was heard making the remark to a woman in a video filmed during the event.
The PA news agency understands he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers.
Evans said: My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.’
Wynne offered to step down from the Strictly tour on Sunday before his departure was confirmed two days later.
He canvᴀssed the opinion of both celebrities and dancers on the tour after The Mail on Sunday revealed he made a vile Sєxual comment about Jeanette Manrara, the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour’s host.
But he decided to stay on temporarily and performed on Sunday night’s show in Glasgow, but following another round of talks with the BBC and the tour’s bosses on Monday, his birthday, it was decided Evans needed to step down for the sake of his mental health.
A tour insider told MailOnline: ‘Wynne was seriously considering leaving on Sunday. He asked his closest allies for advice and they were overwhelmingly supportive, encouraging him to stay on because he’s such a big personality and a popular figure within the ranks.
‘But the pressure was obviously rising externally and given his previous issues with his mental health, the sensible move was to walk away.
‘It’s a decision he didn’t take lightly as he loves the show and built up a huge rapport with his co-stars. However, he really just needs to focus on himself right and everybody connected can understand the decision.’
