The Apprentice stars Karren Brady and Tim Campbell have teased what viewers can expect on the new series of the hit BBC show, as they revealed their advice for surviving the process.
The two trusted advisors of Lord Sugar appeared on Tuesday’s One Show ahead of series 19’s launch episode on Thursday night.
The compeтιтion will see a new group of ambitious candidates battle it out for the chance to win Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment.
Speaking about the new series, business executive Karren, 55, and former Apprentice champion Tim, 47, teased that this year’s tasks are more modern than ever.
Karren explained: ‘There’s so much that’s different, this year there’s a task with an AI pop star. We also had a H๏τ sauce task, with eye-watering results. And we start off in Austria, where I found myself on top on a glacier watching the candidates do the task.’
The duo also revealed whether they are able to predict the eventual winner of the show from the start of the compeтιтion, based on how well they succeeded in the first tasks.

However, Karren denied: ‘Definitely not. But you can sometimes tell straight away who is not going to win.’
She explained: ‘It’s hard to tell as often the very good candidates learn as the process goes on. They learn lots of skills through the tasks and some of them take the feedback and adapt and moderate their style.
‘Also some of the really strong ones slow down a bit and think they know what they’re doing, and quickly realise they don’t.’
Giving their advice on how to stay in the process longer, they revealed what the worst mistakes contestants make that doom them to be fired.
Tim said: ‘If you ever lie on your CV, you will get found out. The interviewers are ruthless and they will find out. For us in the boardroom – the big thing is if you forget your numbers, you are ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.’
While Karren added: ‘Lying, not owning your mistakes, not fighting your corner – those things can let you down.’
The 18 hopefuls vying for Lord Sugar’s investment this year have been revealed, with many already boasting huge online followings on Instagram and TikTok.
While in series past, bosses tracked down budding business moguls hoping for their big break in the industry, it seems many from this year’s line-up are already influencers in the making.

But the new series has also already been hit by controversy, with convenience store owner Amber-Rose Badrudin reportedly caught with another contestant in a H๏τel room during filming abroad in Turkey (pictured)
Speaking on the new series, Lord Sugar, 77, said: ‘I think we find that the quality of the candidates gets better and better, and it’s important because the candidates make the show
Candidates include a budding animator, a pizza company owner, a cosmetic dentist and a meal prep entrepreneur.
But the new series has also already been hit by controversy, with convenience store owner Amber-Rose Badrudin reportedly caught with another contestant in a H๏τel room during filming abroad in Turkey.
Traditionally, during the first few episodes the candidates are usually split into a male and female team, however this year, that has been scrapped.
Speaking on the new series, Lord Sugar, 77, said: ‘I think we find that the quality of the candidates gets better and better, and it’s important because the candidates make the show.
‘The series is not about me or just the tasks that we set, most of all it’s about the individuals that join the process. I think this series is going to be great.
‘We start off with a great trip to Austria which really sets the tone for the series. We also have lots of really good tasks, from buying and selling potatoes, making a virtual pop star to creating a banking app for kids.’
And with next year being the 20th series of the BBC show, Alan said he will continue with the show as long as he is well. ‘I have to see how I feel,’ he said. I mean, I’m getting older, I’m nearly 78 years old.
‘So it really depends; so long as I’ve got my health and strength. I’ve always said I will carry on as long as the BBC wants me to. It’s also a consideration that it’s not my call, it’s the BBC’s call.’
