Ronan Keating has opened up about how he was left ‘on the floor in a mess’ while filming the upcoming Boyzone documentary – and recounted some ‘very difficult’ times with Louis Walsh while on Good Morning Britain.

The 47-year-old appeared in a GMB segment on Tuesday’s episode of the ITV show alongside his bandmate Keith Duffy.

The pair revealed all while chatting to entertainment editor Richard Arnold, 55, about the three-part Sky documentary Boyzone: No Matter What.

Richard asked the two how it felt to relive their early days of film while filming, and Ronan said: ‘When I watched it first, I was hurt, I was on the floor, I was a mess, I was an emotional mess.

‘I watched it again, I guess I looked at it from a different point of view.’

Boyzone was originally made up of Shane Lynch, Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Richard Rock and Mark Walton.

Richard and Mark left and were later replaced by Mikey Graham.

Boyzone were together between 1993 and 2000 and later reunited in 2007 until 2019.

Some of their most popular songs include I Love the Way You Love Me, No Matter What, All That I Need, Every Day I Love You and Words.

Over the years Ronan and Louis have had some very public spats.

And in the documentary, Ronan lashes out at ‘vicious’ Louis and details Boyzone’s ‘toxic’ infighting as he reflects on the boy band’s bitter final days before splitting.

Elsewhere in the interview with Richard, Ronan said of his former manager: ‘We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for Louis and the opportunity that he gave us and the fight and dedication that he had to make Boyzone work.

‘We owe him for that. But some of the things that went on after that, it’s very difficult, it’s very difficult for us.

‘I hope that he’s found some sort of peace.’

The pair also spoke about their former bandmember Stephen Gately, who pᴀssed away in October 2009.

Ronan told Richard: ‘It’s wonderful that we have this legacy for Steo.

‘It shows this beautiful man that he was, that people, unfortunately, because he died so young, will never get to see.’

Keith added: ‘To think of the Steo that we would have known that was stressed out before he came out.

‘He was worried and so stressed out over this whole thing, you know Louis Walsh coming out with these stories that he’s going out with Baby Spice, just to protect him.

‘If he could only have seen the support of the people at his funeral, it was incredible.’

Good Morning Britain weekdays from 6am on ITV1, ITVX, STV & STV Player
