Joely Richardson shared a sweet snap of her and her late sister Natasha Richardson.

Joely, 60, posted an image of her and Natasha as children in honor of her own 60th birthday, which took place on January 9th.

Natasha died on March 18, 2009 at age 45 after a ski accident that caused a head injury.

‘Me and my sister Tasha. On my birthday people seemed astonished that I was happy to be turning sixty. Why wouldn’t I be? It’s not like the numbers jumped from 25 to 60,’ Joely wrote.

‘All the years and decades in between were LIVED. Now I get to be this number investigate how I find it. “60 is the new 40″ people say – I say why does it need to be?” I did that one 2 decades ago,’ the actress said. 

“Age is just a number” is commonly said, but it’s not. It’s a badge saying I made it to this station on the road. So many didn’t, so, it’s a blessing xx,’ tagging @twilighttrees #arentwelucky.’

Joely also posted an image of herself currently, while posed on a ledge with candles and a lit up tree.

Joely, who hails from Marylebone, England, turned 60 on January 9.

Natasha sustained a head injury while skiing on March 16, 2009 in Canada – at the Mont Tremblant Resort near Montreal.

She was taking beginner ski lessons when she fell.

The actress initially refused medical help but was flown to a New York City hospital two hours later after she developed a severe headache, later dying from an epidural hematoma.

Natasha was 45 at the time of the accident. 

She was married to fellow actor Liam Neeson, whom she shares sons Micheál, 29, and Daniel Neeson, 28.

Joely and Natasha are the children of actress Dame Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richarson.

Last year, Joely spoke out about her last vacation with sister Natasha before tragic pᴀssing in March 2009.

She posted an image to her Instagram page of their last holiday with he, writing a sweet caption of the memory.

She posed with Natasha and their mom Vanessa while on a boat in January 2009.

‘I came across this yesterday and it made me smile. Mum, me and my sister Tasha. It was completely impromptu few days away in a gloomy January. Mum and I found ourselves at Gatwick’s south terminal wondering what on Earth we were doing – later mighty thankful,’ she captioned the image.

‘We almost never holidayed the 3 of us (children/partners/friends) – a rare treat. Tash organized everything in her unique way (in other words brilliantly) and I sat back being the birthday girl. We took little boat trip to lunch on island. Special few days that turned out to be our last adventure together. Mighty thankful indeed. Seize the day,’ she said.
