Gracie Abrams reacted to a fan’s peтιтion to replace Dora Jar as the opening act for her upcoming tour.

After a so-called fan criticized Jar’s ‘slow-paced songs’ and demanded an ‘upbeat opening act,’ Abrams, 25, slammed the peтιтion and defended the fellow singer joining her on tour.

The creator of the since-deleted peтιтion wrote that ‘many fans’ were ‘baffled’ and ‘perplexed’ that Abrams announced Jar, 28, would be joining her on her The Secret of Us tour as the opening act. 

On Saturday, Abrams left a comment underneath a Stereogum post about the peтιтion and called it ‘wildly uncool and bizarre’ before showing her support for Jar.

Meanwhile, the Scab Song hitmaker — who previously was the supporting act for Billie Eilish and also The 1975 on their respective arena tours — took the jab in jest and responded with politeness, even throwing in a bit of humor.

In reaction to the peтιтion, Abrams — who sparked breakup rumors with her boyfriend, Gladiator star Paul Mescal, last week — wrote: ‘Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness.

‘So wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up,’ the That’s So True singer commented in staunch defense of her friend. 

‘I’ve only seen everyone’s total excitement and I couldn’t be luckier or prouder to share a stage with this talented wonder. Stream everything she’s ever made whether or not you’re coming to the show. Dora forever and ever.’

The so-called fan criticized Jar’s ‘slow-paced songs’ and said that her music ‘may not achieve [the] goal’ of ‘setting the mood and getting the crowd excited’ for a ‘memorable concert experience.’

Over the weekend, Jar also shared her reaction to seeing the peтιтion and responded politely.

‘Don’t worry this doesn’t bum me out! I’m hear [sic] to perform for all the music loving open hearted fans,’ she wrote in a tweet in response to a fan’s message on Friday. 

‘Those who aren’t interested can go buy merch while I’m playing (but they might as well let me entertain them tho…;)) an overwhelming amount of fans have been so kind & excited,’ she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. 

She later joked that she ‘signed the peтιтion but rehearsing these songs just in case I remain the opener!’  

 Jar also shared another message to thank those from Abrams’ fanbase who have showered her with support.

Last week, Jar revealed that she would be joining Abrams on the European leg of her upcoming tour.

They will kick off the upcoming leg of the tour in Madrid, Spain on February 8 and wraps in Glasgow, Scotland on March 12.
