Connor Cruise posted a rare selfie as he participated in one of his favorite pastimes on Friday.

It was the first social media post in more than a year for the 30-year-old golfer, who recently celebrated his birthday. 

He is the younger child of Nicole Kidman, 57, and Tom Cruise, 62. 

For the special occasion, the younger Cruise was playing a round or two with a friend at the Pelican Golf Club in Bellair, FL, which is located in the Tampa Bay area. 

The sportsman was dressed in a gray puff jacket with a black toque on his head, while his companion wore a white boating hat, a long sleeve black jacket and a blue vest. 

Cruise made no comment about the post but a friend pointed out that it ‘Looks warm but is actually 38 degrees.’

Connor is the only son of Tom Cruise 62, and Nicole Kidman, 57. The couple were married from 1990- 2001

Florida has been experiencing some unusually cold weather, even for January. 

Arctic air has been traveling across much of the nation, bringing freezing temperatures to usually balmy areas.

Connor’s last post was in April 2023, from another golf outing at the Pelican Golf Club. 

Before that it was in August 2022, after he had competed in a fishing tournament in Sarasota. At that time, Cruise’s friends welcomed him back to social media.

His cousin, Adonis Mapother and former NFL player Trey Diller, commented with a series of flame emojis. Actor Michael Pena wrote, ‘It has begun!’

Connor is the only son of Kidman and Cruise. He and his older sister, Isabella, 30, an artist, were adopted by the former couple shortly after their birth.

After trying his hand at being a DJ and acting, the entrepreneur seemed to have found his niche as food influencer.

The last time Connor made a social media post was April 2023, when he was also at the Pelican Golf Club

 When not fishing or golfing, Connor has spent time as a food influencer on Instagram. His account, Connor’s Meatshack features snaps of his exploits on the grill, but he has not posted anything since March 2024 

He, along with real estate pal, Kim Joyce, are the force behind the Instagram page Connor’s Meatshack.

The barbecue enthusiast showcases his grilling skills for the account’s thousands of fans, but has not posted anything new since March 2024.

Connor and his sister Bella reportedly have a complicated relationship with their mother, as the 57-year-old Oscar winner has not been seen with them in public for 16 years.

Throughout her relationship, the family were often pictured together, but following Nicole’s split from the Top Gun star in 2001 the pair reportedly stayed ‘loyal to their father’ and decided to live with him – meaning they were raised in the Church of Scientology.

The Big Little Lies star has refused to talk about the religion or her family ties in recent years and she is said to have been absent from many of her children’s life events, including Bella’s wedding at the Dorchester H๏τel in London in 2015, despite living in the city at the time.

She was reportedly left ‘devastated’ after the pair didn’t attend her father’s funeral in 2014.

In 2018, while accepting her Best Actress Golden Globe, the Nine Perfect Strangers star thanked her biological daughters and second husband Keith – but didn’t mention Connor or Bella.

In an interview with British morning show, GMTV, shortly after her last appearance with Bella and Connor, she revealed Bella and Connor refer to her by her name.

‘My kids don’t call me Mommy, they don’t even call me Mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate,’ she said.

Kidman has previously insisted she does keep in contact with Connor and Bella, despite them choosing to live with Cruise when they split.

‘They live with Tom, which was their choice,’ she said. ‘I’d love them to live with us, but what can you do?’

She added to E! News: ‘Everybody has their own path and when they find their path it’s such a relief as a parent.’

In 2018, Nicole broke her silence about her adopted children again while speaking with Who Magazine implying their fractured relationship stemmed from their religious differences.

‘I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,’ she said.

‘They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.

‘And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.

‘I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.’

Isabella and Connor reportedly reached out to their mom to offer a message of condolence after the death of her mother in September 2024.

‘The most heartwarming thing has been for Nicole to get a joint message from Bella and Connor, who she’s not heard from in a very long time,’ an insider told Woman’s Day magazine in Australia.

Cruise seemingly still has close relationships with Isabella and Connor, and the actor has been seen with his son frequently, supporting him on promotional tours all around the world. 

The actor notably has a strained relationship with daughter, Suri, 18 – whom he welcomed with Katie Holmes. 

The severed relationship is believed to be largely due to the fact that Suri is not a Scientologist like her older half-siblings and her father.
