Drew Barrymore has touched on turning 50-years-old this year.

The actress and talk show host, who will turn 50 on February 22, spoke made  her comments to the February/March issue of AARP Magazine.  

‘I’m so relieved to not, literally, feel like I am constantly beating myself up, or worried about the future or freaking out about this,’ she said in an emotional interview with the publication. 

‘You just realize you’re going to live X amount of years, if you’re lucky, and I would like to live the second half of my life, like, the B-side of a record, not the same way as the A-side.’

‘My whole life I’ve been worried and stressed,’ she explained, while still being ‘happy and having the best time ever and I would have never guessed that I would feel peace.’

‘Thank you 50… It can’t come soon enough. I feel like Frodo. I see that brᴀss ring and I’m so excited!,’ she said referring to The Lord of the Rings character.

She also talked dating after announce on her talk show on Thursday she is not dating at the moment.

Barrymore told AARP her daughters encourage her to date, but explained, ‘also know how I felt when men were around when I was little—it didn’t feel safe to me, so I’m probably overcautious from those experiences.’  

She credited Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo with filling her in on the ’50 f-its’ a few years ago saying the actress described it ‘as this superpower just stop fretting and stop driving yourself so crazy, and I have been waiting…. and I have got the F-its.’

‘I have no issues with aging. This is the happiest I’ve been in my life.’ 

The actress who charmed the public with her 1982’s ET, had a turbulent childhood.

She was born to actor John Blyth Barrymore III, 70, and aspiring actress Jaid Barry,78 in 1975, but her father left when she was only six months old and they have been estranged most of her life. 

Her mother took advantage of her daughter’s celebrity and the little girl was a regular at the famed Studio 54 and other adult H๏τ spots. 

Barrymore began using alcohol early in her life and was admitted to rehab at age 13, where she spent 18 months in treatment. 

She made a suicide attempt age 14, and after she was released, went to live with rocker David Crosby and his wife, Jan Dance for three months.

‘I didn’t think as a teenager I would ever get here,’ explained the star who was legally emancipated at age 14, ‘but this last decade has been the most a**-kicking and furthering of my life.’ 

‘I did Poison Ivy when I was about 16 and at that point I was learning that you could change narratives about your own personal life through characters.’ 

She said that realization helped her learn to ‘keep evolving through story telling,’ and lead her toward producing projects as well as acting in them. 

‘I’ve seen myself change so much,’ she said. ‘It’s a discipline… you can also prove to yourself that you’re capable of change, so you start to get a little more trusting of yourself.’

The actress, who shares daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman described their 2016 split as ‘my dream family was falling apart.’

‘I didn’t know how to put one foot in front of the other – and I had grown up so fast – but now I didn’t know what age to feel,’ she said.

‘I just knew that my life was heavy, and painful and sad… Eventually, thank goodness, I lifted myself out of it. I had two kids and I had to figure it out.’
