Ryan Reynolds’ marriage to Blake Lively was hit this week by a bombshell video showing three takes of a dance scene between the actress and her Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni.

Released by the actor’s lawyer amid claims of Sєxual harrᴀssment made by Blake, 37, the clip appears to show that the pair were on great terms during the period in question.

The behind-the-scene footage, which Justin’s lawyers claim is unedited, appears to feature the film Justin, 40, stroking Blake’s hair and touching her face with another snippet seeing him make her laugh with jokes about his nose.

Blake hit back at the clip’s release, saying it proved she was uncomfortable during the scene and has joined husband Ryan, 49, in aiming to gag Justin’s attorneys – led by Bryan Freedman.

In a new letter filed in court on Tuesday, the pair asked for a protective order to be issued to stop attorneys engaging in ‘improper conduct’ citing an alleged ‘harᴀssing and retaliatory media campaign’ against the couple.

The father-of-four started dating hitmaker Alanis Morissette in 2002 as she was soaking in the plaudits for another number one album Under Rug Swept, which soared to the top of the charts and eventually went platinum.

The Canadian musician, then 27, met compatriot Ryan at Drew Barrymore’s 27th birthday party in February that year and they soon noticed a spark.

The duo debuted their romance a year later, showing up in public for the first time before conducting a big year of appearances including the Juno Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, and Tribeca Film Festival.

Often spotted packing on the PDA at industry events, the couple were closely followed by the world media and Alanis once told People she felt ‘so loved by him, in a trampoline kind of way’.

The singer also claimed the actor was ‘like a soul brother’ to her ‘except that I want to jump his bones’. 

By June 2004 they were engaged with Alanis having more nice words to say about her beau to People: ‘We have the perfect combination of compatibility and incompatibility that makes the relationship very pᴀssionate. It’s perfect. I think it’s about stretching each other.’

Despite two good years together, the writing was soon plastered onto the wall when they went through a temporary break up in June 2006.

By July, they were back to their old ways, kissing, holding hands and going on cute walks together, whether it be in New York City or Vancouver.

In February 2007 their engagement was over, and this time it was for real.

Their representatives issued a joint statement detailing the sad news: ‘They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter.’

Alanis, who captured the hearts of a generation with her anxiety-filled alternative rock classic in the 1990s, detailed the break up in her 2008 album, Flavors Of Entanglement, with the single Torch said to be all about her ex-lover Ryan.

She told Access that the song was ‘really about my grief’ and this is clear to see, with the track featuring pain-staking lyrics such as: ‘I miss your smell, and your style, and your pure abiding way.’

Around the same time, she revealed to Women’s Health that she got ‘angry’ at herself ‘for staying in relationships way too long’. Alanis never clarified whether this remark referred to Ryan.

The hit musician later told the Los Angeles Times she would be taking a step back from love which was played out on the public stage.

‘I think it’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back,’ she said. ‘I was a full-blown love addict, so it was like, “I can’t keep doing this, my body can’t take it.” For someone who is a love addict, [breakups are] debilitating.’

Alanis also explained that the end of the relationship was ‘devastating’, and that externalising the pain didn’t necessarily help.

‘Singing these songs all over the world is cathartic, but it doesn’t heal the rift or the rupture, because the rupture happened in the relationship,’ she said. ‘I naively thought that some healing would occur, but it turns out you still have to deal with humans.’ 

The Uninvited singer went on to marry rapper Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway in a private ceremony at their Los Angeles home in 2010.

The couple share two sons – Ever, born in 2010, and Winter, born in 2019 – as well as daughter Onyx, who was born in 2016. 

As for Ryan, the Green Lantern star began dating Scatlett shortly after he separated from his rock singer ex and they announced their engagement in May 2008.

By September, they had married in a private ceremony near Tofino, Canada, but the union lasted just two years and they broke up in December 2010.

They both filed for divorce in the same month and it was finalised on July 1, 2011. 

In 2016, Ryan showed he still has some love for Alanis when he launched into a rendition of Ironic on the Today show.

The awkward moment came during the comic actor’s interview with host Matt Lauer when he was asked which super power he would have if he could choose.

Ryan replied without hesitation: ‘On demand, reenact any 80s music video in slow motion.’

The actor then launched into renditions of These Dreams by Heart and Juice Newton’s, Angel of the Morning – which he said was one of his favourite songs.

Then came the moment when Ryan was asked to pick a nineties hit, with the host throwing out a suggestion: ‘What about Michael Jackson?’

Ryan then started to warble ‘Isn’t it ironic?…Don’t you think?’

And with that Matt swiftly moved on with the segment and the actor laughed and spluttered ‘Thank god!’

Ryan has had a chaotic week culminating in his and Blake’s decision to request a gagging order against Justin’s team of lawyers and allege he has made false statements about the actress’s case against him. 

They claim Freedman is ‘violating court rules that stop a lawyer from making statements to the press that are irrelevant to a case and might prejudice the jury.’ 

They specifically mention the release of the unedited footage.

In her civil rights complaint filed last month, the actress insisted nobody overheard the comment because the romantic montage was silent and the microphones were switched off 

Sources close to Justin told DailyMail.com they believe it’s ‘grossly unfair to impose a gag order after Justin has been defamed by the New York Times in an article that they say has cost him three jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars’.

They said: ‘All Justin wants to do is release videos and text messages to prove the allegations are false.

‘It is unbelievable that Blake Lively would go on a takedown campaign against Justin and then immediately turn around and say she wants a gag order so that Justin can’t defend himself.’

This came after Blake broke her silence on the unedited footage.

‘Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning,’ her legal team said in a statement with MailOnline.

Her team claims the video ‘shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character’.

They added: ‘Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint.’

Blake’s lawyer also added that none of the intimacy shown in the video from the film — which Justin directed and starred in alongside Blake — was choreographed.

The exclusive footage is the latest revelation in a lengthy saga that began with rumors of rancor behind the scenes of It Ends With Us when it was released last August  

‘Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy coordinator present.

‘Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but the director, the head of studio and Ms. Lively’s boss.’

Blake’s legal team claims that her ‘leaning away’ from Justin during the scene was not acting, and that the clips shows her ‘repeatedly asking for the characters to just talk’.

They added: ‘Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort.

‘They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.’

Her team claims that releasing the video to the media ‘is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public’ and ‘a continuation of their harᴀssment and retaliatory campaign’.

Her lawyer stated: ‘We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his ᴀssociates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.’

But MailOnline exclusively obtained an explosive video this week where Justin’s sound equipment was switched on, showing all three takes.

They include a complete record of the conversation in question at around the seven-minute mark that makes clear the comment about her smelling so good was in response to Blake talking about her spray tan as they film a romantic dance.

Justin tells Blake he’s probably getting his beard on her and she responds by saying she’s probably getting spray tan on him. Then he quips back ‘it smells good’ before both laugh and she tells him the scent actually comes from her body makeup.

And while the montage does indeed show Justin nuzzling Blake’s neck as part of the scene in which they play lovers, the conversation between them is all business with the pair spending most of it talking about lighting and their other halves.

The clip, which is raw footage sH๏τ while filming It Ends With Us, comes complete with audio and was pᴀssed to MailOnline by the actor’s production company Wayfarer and his lawyer Bryan who has previously said Justin has ‘nothing to hide’.
