Ferne McCann broke down in tears live on Lorraine after being ambushed with a surprise message ahead of her next Dancing On Ice performance.

The 34-year-old, who is taking part in this year’s series of the skating compeтιтion, appeared on the ITV programme to talk about how it’s been going so far.

At the end of the interview, stand-in host Christine Lampard told Ferne: ‘Before you go, we have a little message for you.

‘A very special message from a very special person Ferne. Here she is.’

A clip of Ferne’s seven-year-old daughter Sunday then played out on our screens.

Sunday said: ‘Hello mummy. Good luck for Dancing On Ice this weekend. I hope you get through for next week. Love you.’

Ferne was totally lost for words and her emotions got the better of her.

As she covered her face, Ferne confessed: ‘I said no more tears! That’s such a surprise. Oh darling thank you, that’s so special.

‘I’m surprised whoever filmed that managed to get that out of Sunday.

‘She’s super camera shy, ironically.

‘Thank you, that’s such a lovely moment.’

Ferne and her skating partner Brendyn Hatfield took to the rink for the first time last Sunday.

The two performed to Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know and certainly impressed the judges.

Ferne is currently fifth on the leaderboard with an impressive 26.5 points.

Speaking on Lorraine, Ferne said of their skate: ‘I was terrified.

‘The nerves are so real and it’s such a journey beforehand. I didn’t expect.

‘I knew the training was going to be intense, but we’re training a good 2/3 months before the live.

‘The reason I was so overcome, it’s just such a big moment leading up to that point.

‘Throwing in the judges, the live audiences, the people watching home on the TV. It was a lot.

‘I was really proud we got to the start from the end without falling.

‘I think we did a good job.’

This Sunday marks Movie Week on the ITV show and the pair revealed what they will be skating to.

Ferne told Christine: ‘It’s completely different to the first week where it was all romantic.

‘We are skating to the movie Trolls.

‘Big hair, pink and blue it’s going to be super whacky and wild and so much fun.’

Ferne welcomed Sunday into the world in December 2017.

The former TOWIE star shares her with ex Arthur Collins.

Ferne and fiancé Lorri Haines are parents to Finty, one.

Lorraine airs on ITV weekdays from 9am and is available to stream on ITVX.
