Jake Quickenden has insisted that he won’t let others ruin his happiness as he decided to share pH๏τos of his newborn son Kit.

It comes after the X Factor star, 36, was trolled over his son Leo’s looks when he was born four years ago. 

And earlier this month Jake and wife Sophie Church welcomed their baby boy Kit into the world. 

During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Friday, the new dad explained that he didn’t want to let his past experience stop him celebrating his bundle of joy.

Stand-in host Christine Lampard asked Jake: ‘Were you a bit cautious sharing this happy news, you’ve been on the show talking about the dark side of social media, which you did experience with your first little one?’

Jake said: ‘It was just a bit of a weird situation, I was just a new dad who was really happy.

The star became a dad for the second time earlier this month

‘Then I put some pH๏τos out of Leo and some people said nasty things. 

‘I don’t want to talk about it too much it was last time. It didn’t ruin my experience but made me more cautious.

‘Even when we had Kit, I was like “should we put pH๏τos out straight away?”

‘And I was like “I’m not going to let anyone ruin my happiness.” I’m so happy to be a dad.

‘I love being a dad. I love being step dad. it’s just my favourite thing. 

‘I’m not going to let others ruin my happiness. It’s been great.’ 

Back in March 2021, Jake slammed vicious trolls who claimed his one-month-old son ‘needed Botox’.

Jake wrote on Instagram: ‘REAL POST… So in the past week this little man has been told he needs Botox, that he’s ugly as f**k and that he’s weird looking.

‘Me myself have also been told stay off social media if you don’t want to be trolled, it’s so baffling to me that I should have to stay off social media if I don’t want my 4 week old trolled. 

‘I don’t mind people giving me s**t, as sad as it is I’ve had to get used to being called ‘irrelevant’, ugly’, ‘attention seeking’ and the list goes on but to troll a innocent child is so wrong and the people doing it seriously need to seek help.’

Jake continued: ‘Also why should I stay off social media if I don’t want him trolled the thought process of some people is shocking, maybe people just shouldn’t troll.

‘I enjoy social media, it’s full of lovely people who are supportive and I like sharing my ups and downs, I try and be real as possible, but unfortunately there is a dark side of social media and something needs doing about it.

‘Anyway rant over!! The lion is 4 weeks today! Cute af. Love you son @leooliverq’

A year later on Loose Women he revealed that other trolls had criticised the way he fathered his son. 

Jake told the panel: ‘When you do have platform unfortunately you’re always going to get it, you’re going to get people question your decisions, you’re going to get people questioning the way you father.

‘It’s quite upsetting, I’m starting to get my head around it a little bit more because I always feel like if you meet me and you know me then you wouldn’t say it. 

‘So why do I let these people affect me when they don’t know me? 

‘I argue and I let it affect my mental health and it gets me down. 

‘Trolls always pick on the things they know will hurt you, it affects you more when it’s your child.’ 

Jake and Sophie have been together since 2018 and the pair tied the knot in 2022.
