Selena Gomez didn’t let talk of an Oscars snub stop her from congratulation her Emilia Pérez colleagues on Thursday.
After the Netflix movie earned 13 nominations — the most of any film this year — Selena listed each of them in an Instagram Stories post while wishing her best for the nominees.
‘So incredibly proud of my @emiliaperez family!! ❤️,’ she captioned the post.
Early on Thursday, her costars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña were nominated in the best lead actress and best supporting actress categories, respectively, but Selena was not among the nominees.
The film’s long list of other nominations includes nods for best picture, best international feature film, best director, best adapted screenplay, best film editing, best sound, best cinematography, best makeup and hairstyling, best original score and two nominations for best original song.
Although the 32-year-old singer and actress’ fans were quick to describe her lack of a nomination as a ‘snub,’ her case may not fit the traditional definition.

Although she has been recognized by other awards bodies, critics have been far less charitable to her performance compared to those of Karla or Zoe.
So far, Selena has received a best supporting actress nomination at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) — a category Zoe was also nominated in — and at the Golden Globes, and she is part of the nominees for outstanding cast at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Last year, she and her castmates — Karla, Zoe and Adriana Paz — were jointly awarded Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
However, many reviews of the film have been far less complimentary about her performance compared to the other women, and some critics have gone as far as to pan her acting and singing in the role.
Despite that, one of the songs she performs in the film, Mi Camino, was among the best original song nominees.
However, Selena only performs it in the film but didn’t not write any of the music or lyrics.
Emilia Pérez currently has a 76 percent fresh rating from the most prestigious critics surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes, but the film has a paltry 31 percent rating from audience members who bothered to leave a review on the site.
The film has made history after its lead Karla Sofía Gascón became the first openly transgender actress to earn a nomination at the Oscars, but the film has also been blasted by some critics and viewers who found Emilia Pérez to be transphobic, though those criticism were primarily leveled at its writer and director, French filmmaker Jacques Audiard.
While Karla was nominated for best actress and Zoe was nominated for best supporting actress, Selena was not nominated, despite having been nominated at other awards shows and sharing the best actress prize with her costars at the Cannes Film Festival

Selena didn’t let her missed nomination keep her from sharing her good news on all fronts, and later in the day she announced a new range of Rare Beauty cosmetics products on her Instagram page
‘Contour, but make it easy,’ she wrote in her caption while promoting her new Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Contour

Some critics and audience members have also slammed the film for having songs that weren’t especially catchy or tuneful.
Selena didn’t let her missed nomination keep her from sharing her good news on all fronts, and later in the day she announced a new range of Rare Beauty cosmetics products on her Instagram page.
She shared a gorgeous closeup of herself in which she held a makeup brush and her new contour up to frame her impeccably made-up face.

Selena added that her new Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Contour was now available at Sephora locations, as well as Kohls, Space NK and her Rare Beauty website.
