Colin Egglesfield announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in his latest health update shared to Instagram on Monday.
The All My Children star, 51, revealed to this fans that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and recently underwent surgery after catching it ‘early.’
The actor was previously diagnosed with testicular cancer twice – which he opened up about years later in 2019.
Egglesfield uploaded an ᴀssortment of pH๏τos of himself amid his third cancer journey, such as snap of himself smiling while resting on a hospital bed.
In the lengthy caption, Colin shared a quote that read: ‘It’s not the hand that you’ve been dealt because you can’t change that. It’s how you play the cards that counts.’
He explained that he ‘found this quote from an interview I did when I was 25 and it has served me well throughout my life including recently.’

Egglesfield admitted, ‘The beginning to this year hasn’t been the easiest, but in the spirit of what I said in my interview, this is another opportunity to decide who I choose to be in the face of uncertainty and challenges in my most recent cancer diagnosis.’
The star shared that ‘we caught my prostate cancer early and after a year of doing a lot of research and talking to quite a few health care professionals, I elected to be proactive and have surgery.’
Colin then sent graтιтude to City of Hope in Phoenix where he underwent the procedure and treatment amid his third cancer battle.
‘Dr. Gellhaus and all the nurses, other doctors, and staff that have been instrumental in supporting me through this scary time,’ he typed out.
The Client List star also sent words of positivity and emphasized the importance of getting checkups to stay on top of ones health.
‘Hopefully this is a reminder to everyone that you’re not alone with whatever you’re facing and that it’s important to advocate for yourself and your health which includes checkups, seeking information and asking for help when you need it!’
He also gave a special shout out to ‘everyone else who has supported me and extended your well wishes!’
Following the surgery, Egglesfield said ‘each day I’m getting healthier and stronger. I’m still a bit sore but I’m making progress and am determined to come back stronger and healthier than ever especially with the help of my Sєxy walker :).’

Along with the health update, Egglesfield also shared a selfie that he took while standing outside of City of Hope in Phoenix.
He held a small smile on his face while snapping the quick pH๏τo and flashed a peace sign with his hand.
Another picture was taken as he posed with two nurses while using the support of a walker during his recovery.

He underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and on the one-year anniversary after his first cancer diagnosis, the star learned he had testicular cancer once again.
Years later in 2019, the actor revealed his past battles with cancer during an interview with Fox News.
‘It’s not something that men normally like to talk about, and for the longest time, I didn’t want to talk about it because it’s something very personal,’ he explained at the time.
In regards to symptoms he first experienced, the actor stated, ‘I just noticed that my left testicle had swelled up, and I went to see the doctor and he said that we needed to do some tests, ultrasound, a blood test.’
‘And they discovered that it was at a pretty advanced stage, and did the surgery and found that some of the cancer cells had gone through the veins and arteries to the kidneys.’
After recovering from his second cancer diagnosis, the star also got involved with volunteer work for St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

‘This was 13 years ago, so thankfully I am cancer-free,’ he told Fox News in 2019. ‘I feel like at this point in my life, it made sense to put it down on paper.’
Egglesfield is known for starring in a number of projects over the years aside from All My Children, such as The Client List and a remake of the original Melrose Place.
