Netflix has confirmed the return of the beloved legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer.

The hit drama, which follows idealistic lawyer Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) as he runs his practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car, dropped it’s third run in October, leaving fans desperate for more. 

Now, to the delight of its fans, the global streaming platform has greenlit a fourth season of the hit legal drama.

In a statement, co-showrunners Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said: ‘We are so excited to tell more stories with Mickey Haller, and especially thrilled to once again be shooting The Lincoln Lawyer in Los Angeles at this time.

‘The show is in many ways a love letter to our city and an homage to the great tradition of LA noir, and after the tragedy of the fires we are so grateful and honored to be able to provide some stability and hope to the community.’

While there is no confirmed release date for The Lincoln Lawyer’s fourth season, it could be sooner than fans expected.

According to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, the 10-episode series has reportedly been in development for some time, with production set to commence next month in Los Angeles.

Garcia-Rulfo will once again return as lawyer Mickey Haller, while actress Becki Newton will play Lorna, Jazz Raycole as Izzy and Angus Sampson as Cisco.

Actress Neve Campbell is also set to reprise her role as Maggie McPherson after appearing in a guest role for two episodes in the third series. 

Since landing on Netflix in May 2022, The Lincoln Lawyer has proved popular with fans, spending 12 consecutive weeks in the Netflix Global Top 10.

Season three was also popular, enjoying a six-week run in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and scoring an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The latest season of the show saw Mickey and his second-in-command Lorna Crane (Becki Newton) seek justice for the murder of a former client.

Last year fans of the smash hit drama begged Netflix to renew it for a fourth season.

The show’s shocking finale left fans divided after they binged the new series in a matter of days.

Holy f***ing s**t I just finished season 3 of Lincoln lawyer the ending was insane…,’ one user on X user posted.

Another viewer called the ending ‘suspicious,’ while another trashed it completely.

‘I enjoy The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. I absolutely hated the ending of Season 3, it felt like an overused, tired plot device and now I don’t know if I can watch Season 4,’ the user posted.

On Reddit, users said the finale left them ‘confused’ with ‘so many questions,’ while others insisted the final scene was lackluster.

‘I thought the cliffhanger was lazy,’ one viewer wrote.

Fans’ opinions did not stop critics from praising the show.

One critic from Decider wrote: ‘It’s always personal with The Lincoln Lawyer, and in Season 3, Mickey Haller seems to have become embroiled in yet another case that blurs the line between the phrases “professional conduct” and “conflict of interest.”‘

‘If you were a fan of the first two seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer, you will love this season,’ a reviewer wrote for FandomWire.

‘The writers have found the best parts of Michael Connelly’s books and brought them to the small screen to develop a courtroom drama worthy of binging.’

Riotus’ Sherin Nicole noted: ‘It’s clear why Netflix was quick to renew The Lincoln Lawyer…(its) ability to deliver headline-inspired cases and cracked-up but comforting characters, upended by pathos-laced arcs, makes it one to look forward to.’
