The Masked Singer fans are convinced they have solved the idenтιтy of Snail after a string of giveaway clues in the hit ITV show.

During the latest episode (January 18), which was superhero-themed, the panel made up of Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross were joined by guest judge, Olympian Tom Daley.

The judges were dressed to impress as comic book heroes as they made their predictions about who lies behind the masks.

This week, viewers saw Tattoo, Snail, Kingfisher, Teeth, and Dressed Crab take to the stage. 

Despite their idenтιтies kept a secret, savvy viewers became certain that Snail is none other than Bridgerton actress Kathryn Drysdale.

One took to Reddit to muse: ‘I think snail is Kathryn Drysdale. She’s in Bridgerton. She was in St Trinians and in Bridgerton, her character pretends to be French.’

Another fan put: ‘If people are saying they’re too tall to be Nic, Kathryn is only an inch taller, but obviously heels DO exist.’

A third said: ‘I’m swaying your way, latest set of clues had snail referring to school (st trinian’s) and sтιтching je t’aime.’

‘Watching it right now- had expected to recognise the voice but didn’t, wondered about Kathryn Drysdale,’ a fourth added.

Another penned: ‘So I just went and found clips of both of them talking in their natural voices. I would say it is Kathryn over Jess. Either way it will be a treat to see if it is a Bridgerton character.’

A fifth agreed: ‘Right!! It is very Bridgerton coded.’

Kathryn, 43, found fame in BBC sitcom Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, which she starred in from 2001 to 2009.

She then made her film debut in Mira Nair’s 2004 feature adaptation of William Thackeray’s Vanity Fair, as heiress Rhoda Swartz.

The star has also had roles in Tripping Over And Bliss, Doctor Who, and the comedy film St Trinian’s. 

Despite their idenтιтies kept a secret, sharp-eared viewers became certain that Snail is none other than Bridgerton actress Kathryn Drysdale

She joined the cast of Bridgerton as a seamstress in season one and struck up a close friendship with Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan.

Initially, The Masked Singer viewers were all wowed by Snail, who took to the stage to sing Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter, with a fairytale-themed performance.

The character, who carries a green shell on her back, then sung Take That hit Rule The World for their performance during the second week.

Their VT also had a Bridgerton-style feel as the narrative started with the words: ‘Dearest gentle Masked Singer viewers…’

It comes after viewers were originally convinced that Snail was Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole.

They were convinced that several items in the VT, including a Welcome Home tag, an old school uniform, and a Chivalry & Etiquette book, were hints at the idenтιтy of the singer. 

Taking to X to share their reasons why, they said: ‘Snail’s voice sounds like Cheryl but it can’t be??!!’

Picking up on certain clues, a second claimed: ‘Snail is Cheryl Cole – St Trinian’s (Girls Aloud did music video) and she said Toon not tune.’

Another added: ‘No idea about snail. I do think the singing voice sounds a bit like Cheryl but the clues don’t relate to her.’

And as fans piled on the speculation, their frustration with the show also grew as they claimed that the judges were guessing incorrectly to draw out the episode.

One viewer took to social media, ranting: ‘The fact that the judges are pretending not to immediately know Kingfisher is Harry Hill, just proves they’re not allowed to make any real attempt at guessing who it is.’

A second said: ‘Everything feels forced. I don’t get the point in judges picking who sings next. Are they just coming up with new ways to make the episode longer? I prefer series with Rita involved.’

But an ITV spokesperson told The Sun: ‘There is no truth to this story whatsoever. As viewers will have seen, Jonathan correctly guessed Prue Leith on last night’s show.

‘After each performance the panel will discuss how they have come to their guess based on the clues that they have seen in the clues package as well as the singing voice.’ 

The suggestion from viewers comes after frustration over Kate Garraway’s reveal as Spaghetti Bolognese on Sunday’s show left viewers underwhelmed.

The GMB host, 57, left judges Davina, Mo, Maya and Jonathan speechless after removing her mask, while viewers claimed they’d long guessed her ‘obvious’ idenтιтy.

Following Saturday’s cliffhanger Kate’s idenтιтy was revealed as she became the first star booted from the new series.

Laughing, she told host Joel Dommett: ‘I can’t sing and I kept telling [the producers] that, but they said it doesn’t matter’.

Underwhelmed by the reveal, fans took to X: ‘So the whole internet knew it was Kate Garraway, but those five ******* judges had no clue’: ‘Guessed Kate Garraway from the first verse’: ‘I KNEW it was Kate Garraway’: ‘BOOM ! Called Kate Garraway’.

‘YES KATE GARRAWAY’: ‘I knew it was Kate Garraway!!!: ‘Spaghetti Bolognese an easy guess – it’s Kate Garraway. All these changes in the format are awful. 

‘I know this is all pre recorded but please go back to the usual format. Unmask on the same night plus stop letting celebs chose which singer goes next as that’s ridiculous’:
