The 13 Going On 30 actress recently added to her philanthropic efforts as she volunteered to aid victims and first responders following the catastrophic wildfires throughout Southern California.

She was seen lending support to World Central Kitchen (WCK) which is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that provides food relief.

Garner also served food with World Central Kitchen in the neighborhood of Altadena which was gravely affected by the Eaton Fire.

Celebrity chef, Jose Andres – who owns the nonprofit – opened up about Jennifer’s ᴀssistance in the wake of the blazes during an interview with People.

‘She lost a friend [and] she was there like one more,’ he expressed to the outlet. ‘It feels like she was my friend since childhood – and we just met, we barely met – and there she was.’

‘I did not have to tell her what to do, because she’ll always find something to do on her own.’

While handing out food to residents who lost their homes, Andres revealed how she gave ‘hugs to so many people.’

Jose added, ‘I think that’s almost like a psychology worry that I don’t think anybody realizes, but that’s so deep and so important.’

He then gave a shout out to those who ‘showed up even for [even] an hour’ even though ‘they don’t have to.’

‘Some of them are suffering the consequences of the fire, but there [here] they are. And they don’t do it where there are cameras, they’re doing it where there is nobody, and that makes it very special.’

And this week on Tuesday, Jennifer was spotted returning to filming the upcoming season of her Apple TV+ series, The Last Thing He Told Me.

The star was dressed casually in a pair of denim jeans as well as a black shirt and brown jacket.

A dark navy cap was placed over her hair and she carried a black, crossbody bag over her shoulder.

The first season of the show premiered in April 2023 – and became the streaming site’s most-watched limited series, despite having a score of only 41% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show is also notably based on the novel of the same name written by Laura Dave.

The premise of season one followed, ‘A woman (Garner) who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared,’ per IMDB.

Along with Garner, other cast members such as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Angourie Rice and David Morse, will reprise their roles.

The second season will based on a sequel to The Last Thing He Told Me – which was also written by Laura Dave.

Last week, Jennifer’s awkward exchange with a fellow A-list actress resurfaced after being blasted for ‘acting’ during an interview amid the L.A. wildfires.

A TikToker reposted a snippet of an NBC interview with Garner who visited areas that were destroyed by the blazes and called the star ‘a terrible actress.’

The social media user also referenced to a 2017 interview with Jennifer as she made an appearance for Chelsea Handler’s Dinner Party: My American Experience.

The comedian sat down with a number of celebrities for a lowkey meal, with Garner and Regina King being two of the guests sitting at the circular table.

At one point, Regina was talking about being born in Los Angeles when Jennifer interrupted to question about her ancestry.

‘But do you know where your ancestors are from?’ the actress had cut in to ask King.

After a quick laugh, Regina answered, ‘Well, yeah…They were part of the triangle slave trade. From Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Senegal.’

‘But my parents are both from the South. Met each other here. To this day, I’m totally grateful my mom left.’

She added, ‘My mom was the one that was like, “I am f**king out of this b***h and I’m going to see what else is out there,” and she came to L.A.’

Back in 2023, the conversation went viral and was brought up once again in the since-deleted TikTok uploaded last week.

The TikToker also shared her opinion on Garner’s NBC interview as she talked about the flames and briefly mentioned losing a friend. She questioned if the star’s sincerity was just acting or ‘truthful.’

The influencer also added, ‘That woman’s a terrible actress first of all. Second of all, there’s no reason that if you are a celebrity, you can’t just quietly write a check.’

‘There’s no reason that you need to run and find the nearest camera to somehow make this about yourself…’

Social media users jumped to the comment section of the clip – with some agreeing with the TikToker, and others not.
