Watch the moment Katie Price reveals her relationship with Carl Woods is over amid their failed IVF journey – as he admits dumping her was the ‘hardest decision of my life’

The moment Katie Price revealed her relationship with former fiancé Carl Woods was over amid their failed IVF journey was aired during the second part of her new documentary, Making Babies.

The Channel 4 show, which was filmed in 2023 before she split with the car salesman, documents her and Carl’s fertility treatment journey as they planned to have another baby.

However, as they struggled to conceive using Katie’s own eggs amid a lowly 1% chance of success, the couple’s relationship crumbled due to the stress of the process.

Just days before she was due to have a donor egg implanted, a then 45-year-old Katie broke the news her romance was over, with Carl having blocked her.

As she berated him for blocking her just as they were about to take the next step in their journey, Carl admitted that dumping her was ‘the hardest decision of my life to tap out on it.’

He explained: ‘She will just think I’m out of order “He’s left me when we’re having a child”, it’s not about that at all. It’s not about that at all.

‘It’s about having stability in my life, kids need a stable home, there’s no sign of it changing. I don’t have the fight left in me, I fought for three years.’

Katie went on to say that the situation was ‘so c**p’ before going on to add: ‘That I still have to take these IVF tablets ’cause they said I couldn’t stop it last week, if I do, it will mess my periods up and I might not come on for months. I’m not with Carl.’

The documentary later saw Carl explain the reason for his decision, remarking: ‘I never wanted it to go this way, the IVF journey is hard anyway, really difficult with the drugs and the mood swings.

‘It’s been absolute hell, I’ve sat on the end of the bed, I’ve cried to her. I have done everything I can do, the only last thing is to walk away.’

He concluded by saying: ‘It’s a s**t situation but sometimes loving somebody is not enough’.

Katie went on to criticise Carl for his ‘broken promises’ before telling of her plans to cover up her tattoo of him on her arm.

However, despite her heartbreak, Katie admitted that she would have ‘loved’ to have welcomed a child with Carl, but she later noted that while he wanted to be a dad, she questioned whether he actually wanted to have a child with her.

The episode ended with Katie in a more positive outlook after a counselling session, with the star also treating herself to a new pet pooch as she just loves to ‘nurture’.

After reuniting with gynecologist Carole, she told how the end of their IVF process was now a ‘weight off her shoulders’ and that she’s ‘happy’ and ‘free’, with Katie revealing she’s looking forward to having grandkids.

It comes after Katie’s IVF documentary was criticised by Channel 4 viewers as being ‘inappropriate’.

Viewers have taken umbrage at the mother-of-five’s plans to expand her brood, noting that it’s offensive to couples facing fertility issues or are struggling with their own IVF journey.

Katie is mum to son Harvey, 22, with former footballer Dwight York, son Junior, 19, daughter Princess, 17, with her first husband Peter Andre, and son Jett, 10, and daughter Bunny, nine, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler.

Meanwhile, some have questioned why the two-part documentary is airing at all  considering Katie split from the care salesman in 2023.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers didn’t hold back on their opinions.

They penned: ‘Crikey caught a bit of the Katie Price documentary. I’m angry on behalf of people who want and deserve IVF treatment’

‘Plus Katie Price isn’t even with Carl Woods anymore. Bizarre to show this. Thank goodness the IVF didn’t work because potential names were “Frog” or “Monster”‘

‘@Channel4 You’re disgusting giving rancid Katie Price IVF treatment for viewing figures. Give it to couples who may never get the chance to become parents!’

‘Katie Price desperately wanting to get pregnant to hang on to a younger bloke who doesn’t have children is actually quite sad. He should want to be with her for her. She should be enough’

‘The “Making Babies” docu on @channel4 is an affront to anyone who has undergone fertility issues. C4 willing enablers in the continuing freefall that is Katie Price’s life. IVF clinics willing to take anyone’s money. Thoroughly shameful all-round.’

During the show, Katie was left gutted after being informed that she was heading towards the menopause as she tried for IVF with ex Carl.

The former couple had been trying to fall pregnant for three years, however, they were dealt a crushing blow when a fertility expert told a then 45-year-old Katie that she only had ‘a couple of awake eggs’ and that her body was showing signs of menopause.

Breaking the news to the pair during the first episode on Monday, gynecologist Carole Gilling-Smith informed them that they had ‘less than one percent’ of falling pregnant using Katie’s own eggs, adding that it she was ‘unlikely’ to produce a ‘healthy egg’.

And while the situation was a crushing blow to the then couple, Katie was then seen panicking that Carl would dump her amid the fact that she was facing the menopause ‘within a year or two’ and might not be able to give him a child naturally.

The mother-of-five exclaimed: ‘He probably won’t want to be with me now anyway.’

Speaking to the camera, she added: ‘But I now am paranoid that he won’t want to be with me because he’ll want a kid, and he’d think I’m so much grief that he’d go and get someone younger and set up a family. That’s what I think.’

As Carl slammed her negativity as ‘insanity’, Katie went on to say how ‘paranoid’ she was, remarking: ‘The door is closed on me!’

Fertility expert Carole then later admitted that the news was a ‘big blow’ for Katie (now 46) as she told how ‘the first sign of ageing is coming from her ovaries’.

She also shared that when women get news such as Katie’s, they often get the feeling that they are no longer attractive.

Despite being given such a low chance of producing a healthy egg, a determined Katie later informed Carole that she wanted to go ahead with the egg retrieval.

The documentary then sees Katie undergo a procedure to retrieve her egg, with the star later delighted when two are collected.

And while at the time the couple were excited at the prospect of having a baby, they went on to split mid-filming, while the IVF was ultimately unsuccessful.
