Paris Hilton plans to adopt surrendered dog she has been caring for since the LA fires

Paris Hilton has pledged to adopt a dog she has been caring for since the Los Angeles fires.

The 43-year-old socialite opened up her main home to a pooch named Zuzu, who was being cared for at the Pasadena Humane Society after his owners lost their home in the devastating Southern California wildfires.

According to the H๏τel heiress, the Chihuahua mix has blended in so well to their household, he is going to stay permanently.

On Monday, Paris — who lost her Malibu home in the blaze — told TMZ: ‘His family had to surrender him because they lost their Altadena home in the devastating Eaton Fire.

‘I was fostering him this past week and we’ve all fallen in love with him so we’re going to adopt him.’

The Stars Are Blind songstress also called on others to help care for animals displaced as a result of the fires.

She added: ‘To everyone who can connect with the Humane Society in Pasadena, there’s animal shelters all over to volunteer, to foster and fall in love with these animals who are so beautiful, they deserve homes and everyone can do their part in some way.’

Just hours earlier the star took to her Instagram story to tease that her son, Phoenix, two, has been spending time with their new furry friend and shared images of them playing in her living room.

Last week, the star announced that she was adopting the tiny dog via social media, sharing images of them posed together while urging her followers to foster displaced pets.

She captioned the carousel of snaps: ‘We got a chance to visit @PasadenaHumane and was so moved by their life-saving work to help our animal community. I’m so grateful that I’m able to bring home Zuzu, our new foster whose family unfortunately had to surrender her after their home was destroyed in the wildfires.

‘Fostering is such an important way to help when you’re able to — if you can, please consider giving a temporary or permanent home to animals in need.’

The heiress’ friends Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their house in the fires but have seen an upturn in their fortunes after earning money through TikTok videos and a surge in streaming for the blonde beauty’s old music.

And Paris — who also shares London, 14 months, with husband Carter Reum — teased she is open to helping her friends further with a musical collaboration.

Asked if she would be open to a duet with Heidi, she said: ‘That would be fun, I’m sending so much love, I’m so heartbroken for them and what they’re going through but it’s amazing to see everyone supporting her and her music, I’m really proud of her.’

The reality star stayed тιԍнт-lipped when asked if she could potentially DJ at the highly anticipated FireAid benefit concert in Inglewood, California later this month.

She said: I can’t wait for that, it’s going to be amazing. We’ll see what happens. I’m just heartbroken for everybody who have lost everything, children, animals, it’s been heartbreaking to see what happened to California.’

The former Simple Life star also declined to give a definite answer when asked if she plans to rebuild her scorched Malibu home.

She said: ‘Carter will be dealing with all that.’

Paris and her husband, Carter Reum, 43, owned the home for nearly four years years before it was destroyed by the Palisades Fire earlier this month.

The couple purchased the 3,000 sq. ft. three-bedroom beachfront home for $8.4 million back in June 2021, according to Realtor.com.

She also recently launched launched an emergency fund and donated $100,000 to aid victims of the continuing wildfires.
