Steve Jones has praised his ‘amazing’ wife Phylicia Jackson after her ‘brutal’ fertility and endometriosis journey, as he gushed that he’s ‘lucky to have her with or without children’.
The Welsh TV presenter, 47, opened up on the ‘tough period’ the couple went through while trying to start a family, emotionally describing it as one of ‘the hardest things’ he’s ever been through.
Appearing on the Who We Are Now podcast with Richard Hammond and his daughter Izzy on Tuesday, Steve applauded his wife for the bravery she has shown after getting the news last year that ‘it’s not happening’.
He recalled: ‘It’s been a tough, tough few years. I mean, probably the hardest thing I’ve ever… You know, life’s thrown me a few curveballs over the years, but this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through, just seeing Phylicia try to start that family.
‘To see her put her body through everything she’s put it through due to endometriosis, the multiple surgeries, and for the conclusion to be it ain’t happening, which was the news we got I think last year. It’s been brutal.’
Despite the outcome of their fertility journey not being what they hoped for, Steve continues to praise his wife for everything she has been through.

He added: ‘I never thought I could love her more than I already did, but to see her go through it all just being so stoic and, you know, dignified and strong.
‘She’s an amazing woman, just incredible. I’m so lucky to have her and with kids, without kids. I just don’t care, as long as she’s in my life. She’s an amazing person.’
The couple met 11 years ago while Steve was working in America on The X Factor USA and Phylicia was a pH๏τographer.
Steve proposed in front of Phylicia’s family in Italy in September 2014 after she relocated from Los Angeles to the UK with him in 2013.
They went on to tie the knot in a low-key ceremony at the Mayfair Library in London in October 2014.
Steve’s heartwarming comments come just after the couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a romantic candle-lit dinner in October.
Looking back on their decade-long marriage, Phylicia said ‘life’s too easy’ and ‘wonderful’ with her beloved husband in it as she shared a a gushing Instagram post.
Phylicia shared a trio of snaps from their anniversary dinner as they sipped on fizz and indulged in a fancy restaurant.
She wrote: ’10 years. I’d say I can’t believe it but that would be a lie. Life’s too easy and wonderful with you.✨’

In 2022, Steve insisted he’s finally put his womanising ways in the past after marrying Phylicia, with the star describing their union as his ‘greatest achievement’.
He insisted he only has eyes for Phylicia today who he describes as his ‘absolute favourite person’.
He told The Mirror: ‘My good marriage, my healthy marriage – it’s my greatest achievement.
‘I love being with my wife. She’s my absolute favourite person.’
Speaking of their wedding, a source told the Daily Mirror at the time: ‘It might seem to have happened incredibly quickly to outsiders given that they only had a few weeks to plan the entire day but they couldn’t be happier.’
Steve’s love life has really had people talking over the years, with the former lothario famed for his high profile dalliances with a host of Hollywood stars as well as several British beauties.

Kylie Minogue refused to be interviewed by him because she ‘just didn’t want to be tempted’, while Kate Moss’s nickname for him is ‘Jump His Bones’.
Steve also dated Alex Jones from 1999-2002, and later reunited to present Let’s Dance For Comic Relief, remaining close friends for the show.
Elsewhere in the new podcast episode, Steve began by revealing that he got his break in TV after auditioning for BBC Wales’s The Pop Factory on a whim.
He expalined: ‘I went to this audition, I sat down with a producer who pretended to be Bon Jovi or something, and asked a bunch of stupid questions.
‘And they were like, ‘Great, don’t call us. We’ll call you.’ I’m like, ‘Okay.’ That afternoon, the head of the company called me, and he said, ‘You got the job, starting in two weeks!’
Admitting that he is fearless when it comes to taking on new opportunities, Steve said he adopted his ‘f*** it mentality’ after witnessing a heartbreaking accident in his teens.
‘I was on a bike ride when I was 19, and a friend of mine, he came off his bike and he died. And my brother Jonathan was there, and when you see something like that, it just changes everything,’ he said.
Adding: ‘It was heartbreaking, and I was in a terrible place. But it instilled this, if I can use these words, a f*** it mentality. When you see life taken away so quickly and so horrendously, you just think, ‘I’m going to go for it.’

While he’s built a successful presenting career in the UK, Steve admitted that his time working in America on The X-Factor USA was not an enjoyable experience.
The TV star recalled: ‘I must admit, when I went to the States to present American X Factor in 2011, and that did not go well.
‘I’m not allowed to speak about what happened. But I didn’t enjoy the experience. And after it ended, I came back to Britain, and that was a difficult period.’
After returning from America, Steve revealed he had to ‘bend the knee’ to find presenting work.
He admitted: ‘And I get it. You know, to have to bend the knee, you’ve got to do a bit of crawling, because I’m like, ‘Bye bye, I’m going to America everyone!’ That wasn’t how I did it, but that’s how it looked.
‘And half the time, people didn’t even realise I was back. They’re like, ‘Oh man, I thought he moved to America?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, but I’m back! And that was a three years ago!’
